“More Fuss less Substance”
Reviewed 26 August 2013

This is a small cafe and pastry shop in the island of Astypalaia. It is located near the wind mills square, a bit off the heel.
It has a lovely garden where you can seat and relax watching the castle of the island and enjoy a bit of the sunset.
During day time, although the existence of some big trees, you will suffer from the sun. On the morning some breakfast is served but its strong point is the sweets and pastries. Some of them seem to be hand made.
We visited twice, once at late night and we chose a souffle au chocolat with a ball of strawberry ice cream and a sweet with apple and cream. Then we went on a morning for breakfast. I got some olive bread with tomatos and a boiled egg. I can not complain about the tastes', both times I was satisfied, although nothing seemed exceptional.
However, both times the portions were tiny and given the fact that we paid 7,5 euros for the souffle with the ice-cream and 5,5 euros for my tiny breakfast I consider the place a royal rip off. On the other hand the view is rewarding and as such I would suggest to visit once and around the sunset time and taste their sweets.
But certainly there are far more better and economical places in the island to hang there.

“A nice place for drinks and deserts”

Deserts are excellent (mastiha kataifi), drinks are overpriced, service is ok, music is bit too loud, great view on Chora (ideal for sunset)

“Great desserts,great view,little bit overpriced”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

We went there twice and both times the desserts were very fresh and delicious. The view was great and the only disadvantages that we could find was that every dessert costs about 4 Euros and that they didn't give a receipt unless you asked for it.
