“Great front desk and large rooms”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

We stayed here one night and had a good experience. The room was not ready when we arrived (we were very early), but the front desk was very helpful in giving us a time to be back (2 hours before regular check in) and helping us to find what we needed in town. They even pulled out a map to mark the best walking route.

The location was good, with a lot of things within walking distance - we walked to the "castle", waterfront, small Catholic Church, grocery store, plane tree of Hippocrates...

The room was large and also had a very large bathroom. The toiletries were OK - nothing special. Bring your own conditioner or buy a bottle in Greece for your stay (only 1 in 5 hotels that we stayed in had conditioner). I found a large bottle of Pantene at a small market, used it while we were there, and then left it at our last hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet.

The breakfast buffet was fairly extensive. They really try to appeal to a broad range of people - cereals, breads, fresh fruit, olives, tomatoes, Greek yogurt, honey, cold cuts, cheese, other things.

There is a small pool in a sort of courtyard - surrounded on 3 sides by walls. We didn't use it - it looked like it does not get much sun. We also saw a hot tub out there.

Arrived for a 2 night stay on route to Symi. (June 2014) The hotel was full but our special request for the 4th floor room with a view of the harbour had been granted. There was a lovely relaxed calm atmosphere in spite of it being very busy and seemingly a transit hotel. Efi and Maria (receptionists) were exceptional in helping and reassuring us when the ferries stopped running to Symi for a day because of the unusual stormy weather. Thank you again Efi and Maria for organising the help with our baggage on our return arrival before leaving for the airport. An incredibly helpful and pleasant stay.

Needed a place to stay for a couple of nights before a flight home from Kos and booked the Alexandra fairly late on. We're not fussy and I just booked what I thought was a bog-standard room. On arrival we found the hotel was in a quiet square and was a very tall building indeed. Reception was nice and airy and spacious and we were swiftly checked in and sent up to the 4th floor. I hadn't expected anything like the room we got......wow, it was vast, with a double balcony and views over the harbour and to the side. It was of the apartment type with a small kitchenette and table at one end and a couch; also there was a desk. The en suite was smallish but, again well appointed. I can't ever recall having stayed in a more well presented and appointed room. Down at breakfast we had a buffet of hot and cold food with plenty of choice. This really was a most comfortable hotel and I was very sad to leave that room. I'm so glad we couldn't get into the Kosta Palace............

Stayed at this hotel for 6 days. Located in town. We had a great view of the harbor from the 3 rd floor. The staff is very nice and have been a great help. The room was clean and comfortable. We have been traveling for more then 3 weeks in Greece. This was the place that we the most helpful and nice. All around town people were nice, smiling and in general made us feel welcome. There is a small coffee shop beside the hotel and we went there everyday for a good coffee. We were often greeted by the owner's dog, Mirley.
We will definitly go there again in the futur.

Good to spend a night when your boat leaves the next morning. Location is a 5 min stroll to the pier. The quality of the hotel is what you might expect for 47€ a night for two people. Correct and no nonsense, friendly staff.

Excellent location - a 5 or 10 minute walk will get you to all parts of the town, including the harbour front where everyone seems to gravitate. We had a clean apartment room overlooking the harbour which we were very grateful for. The bed was large and comfortable. There was a fridge with a couple of cooking hobs. The breakfast downstairs was good. The decor and ambience were appreciated and the staff very friendly and not at all intrusive or overbearing. We loved it. recommended
