Spacious clean ,opposite beach, breakfast could be outside, no mad race to bag the sun beds, even though it was a mainly Germans only hotel. Reception staff very helpful & spoke perfect English. The only comment is that there was not 1 English or greek channel on the tv

If you want to visit Germany in Greece, this is the place to go (at least in August). The hotel itself is very nice (of course not 5 and neither 4 stars) built on a beatiful strip of a narrow sand beach, but there is nothing greek in it. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, big bathroom with more than enough space, very clean, nice sea view terraces, rich breakfast, efficient staff...
On the other hand, one person at reception continuosly speaks to you in german (although you don't come from Germany), you don't get anything greek at breakfast and fresh fruit is limited to watermelon and grapes (I don't count the salad), no possibility to print from the internet (not even 2 pages of the boarding pass), no fitness room, no feeling that you are in Greece. Tingaki is quite an ugly place, ruined by the mass tourism and bad restaurants, however you can easily travel the island even from there. Despite all this, the hotel and its staff are nice, just the athmosphere is missing...

What a wonderful Hotel, great staff and excellent food. Five star treatment made a holiday to Kos bearable, but only just. Kos has seen its day years ago. Empty shops everywhere, 6 Euro for a Corona everywhere except the Hotel!! Well done to all at the Kos Palace hotel, thanks for your hospitality. Seriously though, reconsider your visit to Kos, unless your'e over 60 and enjoy being bored!!

Room Tip: Nearby is the Ampeli Taverna, a local wine farm tavern with the best food and cheap as chips!! Hard...

WE have been there in April 2011, it was one of the few hotels opened so early. The place locally is rated 5 stars, actually it's a nice place anyway (in Italia, it'd be between 3 and 4 stars). Nice rooms, clean, and the personnel was kind. A very good surprise was the food: even if we have a limited choice, as we're both vegetarian, we 've been very pleased to find a rather varied choice, both in breakfast and at the dinner; it was all buffet, that's Ok for us. The pool was ready and seemed nice, but we just were not interested in it. We stayed in the hotel just for the night and the half board, otherwise we 've been visiting the island. Another thing that we were just not interested was the beach, anyway the beach.... just does not exist, at least in front of this hotel. In fact, exiting the hotel you have the small coastal road and then very few meters of beach and soon the sea, which in some points almost reaches the asphalt of the road.
As you can see in Google Earth, the near surroundings are nothing interesting if you are after nice Greek towns.... but it's OK if you like Greek island countryside, or birdwatching (it's near the famous Alykes lake).
Last but not least, in low season the price was ultra good, 60 euro a double room half board.

Travel brochures had this place rated as 4-star. I thought the hotel was working at earning a 3-star rating. I'd say it's a good 3-star hotel.

The food was good. Dinner offered a decent choice of buffet and the freshness and quality were excellent. Breakfast, while offering quality food, gave absolutely no variety...had the same choices every morning...for almost two weeks.

The room/bath was OK with decent and unmarred furnishings but nothing special. The housekeeper was tip-top though; no complaints at all with the daily job she did.

The personnel were pretty good and have no complaints, but besides the maid and food personnel, no kudos.

Gripes: Room safe was not free and thought €15/wk was overly much. I can understand a deposit on a pool/beach towel, especially if taken off premises...but a €5 cleaning charge?! Unlimited swaps but it's still a charge I'd never encountered in a decent hotel! Only soap was provided, no shampoo...and only received a total of three small bars over the 12 night stay. When questioned about this it was explained that most guests bought their own. Of course they do it it's not provided!!! In these days of tight baggage weight restriction on air carriers I shouldn't have to carry it from home or more than I'll ever use there.
Overall it was a decent stay...but if you currently see a rating of more than three stars on a travel site or brochure...don't believe it.
