The ideal place to vacation.A peaceful and beautiful place to relax, think and rejuvenate in all respects. It has come part of my annual visit outside the U.S. For the past seven years I have been visiting Patmos and stayed always at Porto Scoutari, a unique and pleasant experience. This lovely hotel combines the natural beauties of the authentic Greek islands, the crystal clear Aegean blue waters, convenient location and majestic peaceful environment situated in the Holy island of St. John. Every space is tastefully decorated and the rooms have original personality identifying several islands. The common areas are beautifully furnished and decorated with rare antiques and collector items. They are convenient for the guest's needs regardless if this is a business center need or enjoyable breakfast or any meal or simply a relaxing afternoon coffee. As a guest, you feel special. In a nut shell, Porto Scoutari is a place I always return with great enthusiasm. John and Elina are the best, catering to all their guests 24/7. I highly recommend Porto Scoutari Hotel.

I was in Greece last year and at the end of my business engagements I visited the island of Patmos in July where I stayed at Porto Scoutary Hotel that came highly recommended by several associates and friends in Washington, D.C. My two weeks stay there was a memorable one and as pleasant and enjoyable as one may ask or imagine. Having the opportunity to travel around the world, enables me to realize that the superb, warm and genuine extended hospitality at Porto Scoutary Hotel is indeed next to none.

In a majestically natural setting, the hotel identified by a true architectural design and balance in achieving a well-thought natural and comfortable lay out, comfort of the rooms that are in harmony with nature by bringing the natural beauty inside, the sparkling swimming pool, the beautiful flower arrangements, the unique small chapel of Saint Maximos and the white color of the hotel structures, in perfect symphony with the deep blue color water of the Aegean in front of one's view is an environment of ultimate perfection.

Elina and Yiannis, perfect hosts, offered the best throught out my stay, including delicious breakfast to please and satisfy even the most demanding guest. I am very happy and grateful for having received this award winning hospitality at Porto Scoutary that definitely deserves a five star rating. It takes a exceptional high level management to deliver the highest of qualities and urivaled service Porto Scoutari Hotel of Patmos offers, including the genuine warmth of the knowledgeable and courteous hotel personnel.

As I look forwards to be visiting this magnificent hotel again this July, I will be making reservations, so my family too can have a taste of an outstanding vacation at Porto Scoutary Hotel in Patmos, the island of "Apocalypse."

Best regards,

Last summer I had the pleasure of coming across this secret slice of heaven. My husband and I went to relax and did we ever. We are looking forward to our return this year. The hotel is absolutely fabulous to say the least. From the individual designs of the rooms, landscaping, pool area (ahhh the view, unlike any other) lobby, reception area, food service, concierge and wonderful and extremely hospitable staff there is nothing more I can say except that I highly recommend this spot. The team was professional and catered to our every need. The owners are very personable and would check on us, what we needed and how our stay was going and what they could do to make it better. It doesn't get much better than this folks. If you are looking for a secret getaway with your loved one and need 5 star treatment, you need to head to Porto Scoutari! Can't wait to get back!

We are looking forward to our third visit to Porto Scoutari on September to celebrate my 65th birthday and are confident that everything will be as charming as we remember..........comfortable,spacious rooms with beautiful furnishings, and lovely terraces to sit and admire the views and well tended gardens.

The pool is a delight as are the comfortable sun loungers complete with thick mattresses!

The reception area was full of interesting antiques and sea faring memorabilia as well as a good selection of books.

Can't wait to sit in the sun again overlooking the bay, chatting with our friends.

Room tip: Garden view rooms are pretty with a shady terrace

Since we last stayed here, we have been determined to return.

The situation, a mile or so out of Scala, was just right for us and taxis were easy to get and quite reasonable. Mr. Scoutari sometimes "ferried" us to a beach and we were offered beach umbrellas along with advice about which tavernas made the best zuccini fritters.

We stayed in the same room on each of our visits, one with a garden view. The gardens were lovingly tended and so were a pleasure to see.The room had everything we needed and was spacious and beautifully furnished. The shaded terrace provided plenty of space and comfort to partake of a picnic lunch or pre-dinner drink with our friends.

One of the best aspects of this hotel were the breakfasts. Plenty of choice including wonderful almond cookies.
Another good thing was the excellent sun beds around a wonderful pool.

Can't wait to return!
