We stayed for six nights on the beautiful island of Patmos and we were very happy at Villa Knossos. Well located on the edge of Skala near the harbor, we could walk everywhere although we did rent a car to get around the island. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main building (where the owner lives upstairs) that had a great efficiency set-up and a nice terrace surrounded by greenery. Debbie, the owner, was incredibly accomodating and picked us up at the Port and and took us back there late at night to catch our out-bound ferry. Yes, there is some industrial work around the Villa but it never bothered us.

Room Tip: Everything is good. Our room was great - no. 7.

I can't find the words! Hospitality, cleaniness, service, warm welcome, as if I am at home! Really friendly people, they make you feel they are not real!
5 minutes distance from the port, very quiet and in the middle of a garden, this hotel and villa resort is ideal for a relaxing holiday! Can't recommend it enough! Having looked around at other hotels there is no comparison whatsoever. Even the furniture is brand new. The interior has a character of its own, the furniture being of real wood.
I went there with 4 of my close friends for five days and we chose the detached houses. I wish we had more time to spend!

Room Tip: Just talk with the landlady about your preference.

This is one of the best places I've ever been to. We were not planning on staying there for more than a couple of days and ended up staying for more than a week. We rented a self contained studio which was spacious, clean, well located and very well equipped. The owner's hospitality, service and fine manners attracted us the most. I've never found such a bargain! I strongly recommend it !!!

Have just returned from a 10 day stay at Villa Knossos. We originally booked for 2 nights, but liked it so much, we stayed much longer. Our room was quite spacious with en-suite shower room with good hot water, and small balcony. Although no sea view, the balcony was surrounded by beautiful plants so very restful. Villa Knossos is just off the main harbour road, so quiet, yet within easy reach of the town (5 mins walk), and near the bus stop for buses to Kampos, Hora and Grikos. We easily reached a different beach each day, either walking, or in combination with the bus. Despina our lovely hostess was very welcoming, and even left us some home made cake and wine on a couple of occassions. She was also very knowledgable on the local area and local events. Our room was cleaned every day and we were provided with clean sheets and towels daily - all this for just 30 euros per room per night - great value for those looking for something simple and freindly!

We have stayed in many studios in Greece over the years and this was one of the very best – in the top three. We stayed in the back studio, no 8 I think. Our friends had the front studio, no 9 and it was very similar. This review is based on these studios not the rooms at villa Knossos.
Villa Knossos is conveniently located 10 minutes from the port and on a quiet street just off the road to Melloi beach. The studio was very large and what was so surprising was that it was so well equipped with furniture and there was almost everything to cook with – a real rarity in a Greek studio. There was a bottle of wine for our arrival, a bottle of cold water in the fridge, and tea, Greek coffee, Nescafe, sugar and milk. It was so comfortable and well equipped that we felt that we could easily have lived there for a month or two. In the bathroom there were loads of cleaning materials and even a packet of OMO for clothes washing. In the entrance area to the Villa Knossos there was a good selection of books to swap.
There was a good sized shaded balcony and there was lots of greenery as a result of them having their own water supply. One potential limitation was the lack of a sea view, but few studios or rooms in Skala have this. We had a view over a small field and the hills above the buildings opposite. There was no internet but we were able to use the wireless internet on the terrace at the Hotel Australis, 30 metres away, which is owned by the same family.
We were picked up at the port by co-owner, Debbie, who was born in Australia. She was extremely friendly and helpful, as was everyone at the Villa Knossos and the Hotel Australis. She drove us down to the port on our departure.
Tip – Buy food, fruit and vegetables at the AB Foods supermarket, 200 metres from the port on the road to Chora. It was much cheaper than the other supermarkets in Skala and I suspect on the whole island.

We stayed in a self contained studio in Villa Knossos for 3 nights. Can not recommend it enough. They provided a pick up from the ferry and drove the 5 minutes to the villas from the town centre. The accommodation is absolutely lovely, very clean and fresh and had lots of little extras such as tea/coffee, breakfast spreads and washing powder to do your laundry. Debbie was very friendly and checked on us every day and gave restaurant and beach recommendations. Its a 3 minute walk to a supermarket and bakery and another 5 mins until you are in the main town of Skala. The villa is near the new harbour so your immediate vicinity isn't the prettiest but you can't see any of it from the balcony of the villa due to the lush gardens. Its within close walking distance of the town beach and also of Aspiri & Meloi beaches. (about 1 km away) but a beautiful walk. We had Aspiri to ourselves while we were there! We are already planning our trip back.

This is a great place to stay. Debbie the owner, who is Australian and from the same family as the Australis Hotel next door, is welcoming and pleasant. You can stay in a room in the villa (cheap as chips) or a small studio (still very cheap). We stayed in a studio and enjoyed all the luxuries of home in a way that is pretty rare in the islands. For example, tea and coffee making, basic kitchen equipment, air-conditioning, plenty of hot water, a balcony with a clothes airer, a spacious room. Laundry powder and basic cooking supplies are also provided, which illustrates genuine attention to the needs of travellers. There is a pretty garden. Debbie or her husband will meet you from and return you to the ferry, and will arrange car hire for you. The villa has a library of second-hand books. I can't recommend this place too highly.

It's also a very short walk to what must be one of the best restaurants in the Dodecanese - It's certainly far and away the best we found in our entire Greek Island trip. I forget its name-but you will not mistake it, near where all the posh yachts are moored on the walk into the town from Villa Knossos.
