We weren't expecting much but Kamiros is big and beautiful, we spent several hours exploring and enjoying the views. I did download some information on the site from the internet beforehand so that we had our own tour guide.

There's enough stoneworks left that you can get a very real understanding of how the town was set out and there are benches all around that you can stop and take in the views down to the sea.

I would say this is a must see on your trip to Rhodes!

Note that there is a cafe but it's a bit pricey.

Thank ffls

This is a must-see place in Rhodes. Amazing scenery of ancient city Kamiros. All remains are in really good condition, you can even see some writings on a stone. It is better to go there as a tourist group with a guide - the information flyer you get at ticket desk is not so informative. Or get some tourist book to know some really amazng facts about this city. Oherwise the place would be just not inturesting at all.

Worth a visit!!

A knowledgeable guide is a must. The layout of this 2500 year old city needs explanation but with it the whole place comes to life. This is beautifully preserved and restored and has several pre-Roman features showing where the Romans got their ideas from.

My boyfriend & I decided to visit Ancient Kamiros on our recent holiday to Rhodes.
This is one of the 3 ancient cities in Rhodes (Lindos & Ialyssos are the other 2).
Entry fee is 4 Euros (£3.20-£3.50) - a bargain compared to many tourist attractions.
Well worth checking out. The area where the ruins are is quite steep & rough terrain, although the views are amazing (plenty of wildlife to see too!). The ruins are steeped in history, & make fantastic photo opportunities!

An absolutely fascinating glimpse into the past. This is a wonderful ancient sight and is very large covering the hillside with fabulous views over the sea. You can only imagine how impressive this place once was.
