On arriving the town appeared very busy, after all it was a Sunday during the Greek holiday season, and my heart sunk. However around the corner was a lovely secluded, tranquil oasis, namely this hotel. This hotel is not in Parga itself but that is a huge advantage. You are right on the beautiful Valtos beach which is gorgeous and the hotel is at the prettier end; if it is a beach holiday you want, it is hard to improve on. The hotel is made up of a collection of small dwellings, like bungalows, and double storey buildings with upper and lower rooms. Stunning gardens to boot. I think it is one of the best beds and pillows we have ever slept on in Greece and also quiet and efficient non complicated air conditioning, brilliant! Our room was away from the beach and pools which were always busy with children so that was great for us. Breakfast was also more varied than in many other Greek hotels of this standard, with no horrid synthetic orange juice. Parga is easily accessible by water taxi, ordinary taxi or a steep walk up to the castle and over the hill. However there are a couple of nice eateries in Valtos. All in all a most enjoyable beach holiday with some lovely eating experiences in the evenings in very picturesque surroundings. We would certainly return one day.
