“Great Holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2014

We stayed for 2 weeks July 2014 and had a fantastic time.Great hotel, and run by a really lovely family, so friendly, couldn't do enough for us. There is always someone on hand if you have a problem and need advice. Rooms are very clean all you need is provided for a comfortable stay, It is a 10 minute walk to the centre of ipsos and road has no path so be careful of mopeds.Good selection of bars and resturants in ipsos though food at the Lavrion is very nice and also reasonably priced. Blue bus every half hour to corfu town and cheap 1.50 euros each.

Just thought I'd add a quick little review of this place, was here last summer with a couple of friends. We didn't want any of the usual Greece hype (we're all in our 20s), but wanted relaxation and a pool! The hotel was lovely.
Standard what you would expect from a Greece room, had everything we needed and was very comfortable once we were shown how to use the AC!
The pool was amazing! Always quiet, really nice setting and clean.
The food - I still crave it! The BBQ which the family put on was to die for, I would go back just for that! We never ordered anything which wasn't good. Really recommend it.

The only thing was it was a walk from the town if you really want to go to the bars etc. Wasn't really anything of a nightlife but we were happy with this. The beach is lovely and really beautiful scenery.

Great hotel, and run by a really lovely family :)

we stayed here for 12 nights 30/6-12/7 2014.had a great time, room was as you'd expect, food was really good and reasonably priced,Stathis and family were fantastic all the time we were there.we too encountered the Slovenian mob, uncouth lot,no respect or manners at all.we mostly ate at Phevos in the strip.we used several bars in the resort, although the 3 Brothers bar seemed to be a regular haunt for escorts/prostitutes.came back each night to work our way thru the cocktail menu.would go back here anytime.

This is our 2nd stay at Lavrion hotel and we were so excited to come back after such wonderful vacation last year (see my review from last year's stay).
The reason we came back is the peace and quiet along with a great staf and tasty food. Unfortunately our expectations were not fully met. The first 2 nights were absolute nightmares: we couldn't get any sleep due to a group of slovenian youngsters (about 20ppl) partying all night in the hotel, including the corridors and the room next to ours.
Obviously this is not the hotel's fault and the second night the manager set rules and this didn't happen again. Nevertheless they were very noisy (speaking loudly in front of guest's doors and at the pool). They absolutely have no respect nor education.
Apart from that incident everything was back to normal until a group of italians girls arrived. Even though they didn't party, they were as noisy as numerous.
Today, another group of italian girls arrived at the pool, taking a dozen of sunbeds, smoking, and speaking loudly..They are from another hotel but are allowed to use the pool if they buy drinks or food ( which by the way we didn't see...). This is very inconvenient and a bit unfair for us paying for a room to access the pool...
As we are writing the review more and more people are arriving..
On top of that our stay was spoiled by people smoking all around us particularly at the pool and during our meals.
We are very sad to have to write this review because this is a very nice place run by nice people who can't never do enough for you.
But for us, looking for a place to relax on holiday, we will not be coming back. If you have the possibility to come in low season, go for it, you won't be dissppointed.

Arrived at the apartments on 24 June for 2 weeks, we were greeted by Stathos and his family...who were all lovely and made us feel at home throughout our stay.

All rooms are studio apartments with 2/3 beds, small kitchen area and bathroom, with shower. We received clean towels and bedding every 3 days and room was clean.

The pool area was very good and relaxing when we were there...Some days it felt like we were at our own private villa! The food and drink at the bar is reasonably priced and good.

The apartments are approximately 15 minute walk into Ipso, which is down two hills which are main roads with no pavements. Although this was the case I did not feel unsafe walking into town which we did every night for dinner. Walking home was quite dark but there was street lighting and we never felt unsafe. The latest time we walked home was about 4 am.

We found a few nice restaurants which served a good selection of foods. The squirrel was the closest to the apartments, if you go here the sea bass is to die for! Also Ipsos Pasterie this was an Italian which also did Greek food...This was my favorite, absolutely delicious. The third is moby dicks...The pizza and seafood dishes were amazing and great choice.

For drinks...Tiffany's bar on the strip was good... its an English bar owned by Neil. Volf also worked there, both made you feel welcome. The drinks were reasonably priced and they had strongbow on tap!! There are also numerous cocktail bars along the strip which were good. The time we were there it was not very busy but we were told the busy season is July and August and the majority of holiday makers are usually Italians.

We also went on the boat trip to KASSIOPPI, It was 25 euro, u get a BBQ on the beach, swim in the sea and into the caves and it stops at 4 destinations worth every penny...A great day out.

All in all had a great holiday and would definitely go back :-)

I've just returned from a week at the amazing, friendly, beautifully situated Lavrio. Greeted at 10.30pm by owner Stathis and mama, they couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. Their family was around most of the time, tending to everyone's requirements with enthusiasm at all times. The apartments are perfect:basic and cleaned regularly. We were located at the side where we got the sun all day long, the poolside and bar areas were always kept clean and tidy and the wee robot pool cleaner did its job in the evenings. Food of Greek and European variety is served 8am-11pm, bar is well stocked with local and international drinks, the town is a short walk away on a typically Greek/Corfian road with no pavements or road markings, inconsiderate drivers and at one point is very dark. There's a load of restaurants in the resort, all offering pretty much the same selection with the same prices, give or take a Euro.No complaints there. Beach is shingly but fine. Loads of buses taking you to Corfu town and other resorts on the way for £1.50. Sharing our week were Scottish, Dutch and English guests, and a group of Slovenian youngsters arrived on our departure day. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Lavrio with my sister, and even had a wee cry when we left!! am looking into returning next year with my daughter already.YAMAS.

Room Tip: Poolside rooms at this time of year were sunny in the a.m. only. Side rooms (10-12) had sun all day...
