“Holliday in the most dead town ever”
Reviewed 23 June 2013

The 8 of June, my housband and I arrived in Corfu. We were verymuch exited, because it was ower first trip to this island.
The hotels personel was very nice and polite, but the beds and breakfast was terrible. Almost half an hour and you have seen the whole town. The town had absolute nothing to look at. We were there for 2 weeks, and it was the longest holliday you can imagine. We could take some trips to pas time, but that was not the perpes of the vacation. If you are an older person, then it could be a nice place, because there is a hole lot of pease and quiet. Ecsept for the naborghs 6 dogs barking at all hours 24 hours a day.

It was a pleasure to have you stay in our hotel and thank you very much for your feedback. St George is on the whole a very relaxing resort with friendly locals which is what attracts many people to come back again and again.

We stayed here for 10 nights in mid May, the hotel is positioned nearer the far end of the village but the village is flat and easy walking to both beaches. As we were early season the hotel was just setting up and very quiet with the restautant not open yet. The hotel is clean and, the rooms are basic but with everything you need for your holiday including a fridge. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels change every other day. Claire gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and her and her staff worked hard to make sure we were happy and did not want for anything. The grounds were spotless and the gardener worked non stop to make sure it was looking its best. Claire even went out of her way to drive up to the pharmacy for us when my husband was ill which was so nice of her. There were some great restaurants, we never had a bad meal, food and wine for 2 never came to more than 30 Euros, I would recommend Ocarina and San Carlos for menu and service. If you are looking for a friendly, relaxing holiday in a nice flat area then I would recommend this as a great place to stay. The only drawback for me was the hour transfer and bus trip if you want to visit Corfu town, if you want to get around you may need to hire a car.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at the Blue Sea. We have arrived home completely rested after a stress free two weeks. Claire and her staff work very hard to make sure everyone is happy and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. The rooms are very clean and the food in the restaurant is excellent. We will definitely visit again.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have very private balconies

We booked this hotel for a one week break for some sun which we certainly got.
On arrival Claire the manager/owner greeted us and provided clear info for our stay. Air con is extra which is not made clear in the holiday brochure. We decided not to bother and managed OK until the last 2 nights when it was very hot. On restrospect it would have been better to shut the window and have air con on as the mosquitos were bad.
The room was very clean and had all basic requirements except for soap!! If we had arrived at night we would have had none until going out the next morning to get some.
Despite previous reviews, we thought breakfast was adequate with enough choice. However the "fruit juice" is coloured water! The bread was not dry and there was also french toast on offer. The yogurt was nice and creamy
The pool was very clean and appeared to be well maintained.
Also good choice of food in restaurant.
One minor gripe is that the hallway and stairway lights should come on in hours of darkness automatically for safety reasons. I do realise there are light switches, but on coming out of our room in the evenings, the passageways and stairs were in total darkness.
In summary, this is a good basic hotel that is clean and well maintained. The staff are all very friendly.

We stayed at the blue sea hotel during August 2012. We booked last minute and after a busy year we wanted somewhere with a nice beach to rest on with some bars/restaurants at night with a couple of days out and we definitely go that from this holiday.

The customer service at the hotel was excellent. On arrival we were given a warm welcome and during our stay the staff were always very courteous. Our room was clean and a suitable size for the type of accommodation and we found the hotel to b in a good condition in general. The only thing that stops me from giving the hotel 5* is that the breakfast was poor with limited choice. its not what I expected having had ‘traditional’ greek breakfasts on previous holiday. To be honest this did not do the hotel any favours as it put us off eating in the restaurant during the evening.

The location of the hotel was good. It is situated on the main stretch of road leading to beaches 5-10 mins walk either side of the hotel. Look out for the bar on the beach on your left as you leave the hotel as it offers free sunbeds.

There were plenty of bars and restaurants on the sea front many with sea views which were a perfect end to each day of our holiday. I would recommend eating in “The Balcony” as we ate there twice as the food and service were excellent and The Amazonia Bar for drinking, it had the cheapest Mythos and Cocktails around. I would also recommend taking a trip to corfu town and the boat trip to Paxos and Anti-Paxos both were lovely days out and good value for money.

Overall we enjoyed our holiday and I would recommend going to the Blue Sea Hotel!

This is our third visit to Corfu and Blue Sea Hotel was the nicest accommodation. We had a nice room with a balcony. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Sometimes a little noisy at night but no worse than at home. We didn't find the staff unfriendly in fact the opposite. Mythos was a little bit more expensive than some of the other places. The restaurant was excellent. We eat there on five out of the seven nights we were there which speaks for itself. It is unfortunate there is no provision to make an early brew in room. (no kettle or cups). We know air conditioning is charged extra at other establishments so this was no surprise to us. It was a bonus that the owners daugher in law is English. Thiswould have made it easier if we had had any problems which we didn't have.

Room Tip: Check if the room has a balcony.

This was our first trip to Corfu and booked the Blue Sea Hotel through the internet. We arrived in the early hours of Saturday and our pick up transport hadn't arrived, as we were very tired we decided to make our own way there and took a cab, (costing 50 euros). The Hotel when we arrived was in complete darkness, with the front door looked. The taxi driver told as to make our way around the back, on going around the back, again with not one light on, we tripped over a hose pipe that was just left laying across the path way, the walkway was very uneven where something had been dug up and just left. When we finally got into the hotel our key & room number were left on the counter. We had booked a double room, but were given 2 singles. IN the morning we asked to be moved to a double room, and the owner were very happy to change the room. The room was very basic and you had to pay 6 euro per day for the A/C. which didn't seem to have any control either it was on and very cold or off. Breakfast was too early 8 -9.30am, as the night live in Corfu starts and finishes late, this was too early . We only made breakfast twice and it was crap. The toaster never toasted the bread so you ended up with hard bread, and the fruit salad was awful. The coffee and tea wasn't bad. We had breakfast in the hotel across the road every day. The shower was terrible and the water was only ever luke warm and after a day of rain, the water run cold all day. The owners and family and staff were were very friendly and worked hard. The hotel just seemed very tired and needed a lot of work done on it it. On our last day we had to be out of our rooms by 11.00am our pick wasn't until 10.30pm so we had to pay an extra 30 euro to stay longer Two ladies staying in the hotel checked out at 11.00am and their pick up wasn't until 2.00am the next morning, as the hotel was far from full, the check out could easily have been made later. . The beach opposite the hotel was lovely, the local people all very friendly and plenty of places to eat. Corfu is a wonderful place when the sun is shinning.Would l go to Corfu again ?. Yes Would l stay at Blue Sea ? No

Room Tip: We stayed on ground floor, don't know what the rooms upstairs were like on the first floor
