“Excellent Holiday....”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 via mobile

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a friendly, family run hotel, then choose Tzevenos.
The pool and hotel are very clean and extremely well maintained by the family who own and run this hotel, they are also really friendly and always happy to help. We are a couple in our 40's, who wanted a relaxing week away, we have just returned home totally refreshed, without a single complaint.
Top marks and a huuuuuuge 'Thank You' to Amalia, Spiros, Georgia, Dora and Costas, your Greek hospitality was fantastic.
Not forgetting Harry, who works behind the bar....great guy, great cocktail maker and barman but do not ask him for directions, as according to Harry it takes 10 minutes to cycle to absolutely anywhere on the island!!
We had a great holiday, so be warned Tzevenos...we will be back!!

We have vistied St George South a few times but this is the first time we have stayed at Tzevenos and would highly recommend it. Our room was on the first floor and although not recently renovated it had obviously been well maintained. The bathroom was clean and the shower basin and shower curtain looked new. The furnishing was of a good quality for a 2 star hotel. We had a small fridge ( not noisey , which has been a problem in other accomodation) , a kettle and two of plates cups etc. There was also a hairdryer.

The rooms were cleaned and towels changed regularly. Toilet roll was replaced when finished ( other places we had been rationed to one a week )

There was free wi-fi in the reception and also a book exchange. You can also purchase saftey deposit boxes at reception.

My husband and I prefer the beach so did not hang about the pool or the bar - we found the family were friendly although we were nt spending a lot of money there.

I would return to St George and Tzevenos.

Stayed here 3-10 June. This was our second visit to St Georges South but the first time staying at Tzevenos on bed and breakfast. First impression was how modern our room was, the furniture and soft furnishings were very new, we later learned that all rooms on the ground floor had been renovated. The bathroom had a shower with a tray and curtain - very unusual for Greece. The plumbing in the bathroom has to have been the best I have encountered in the many times I have visited the Greek islands. The family running this hotel are very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was tea/coffee and toast. The location is perfect for the numerous restaurants, walk down the road to the T-junction, turn right and there are many restaurants each serving food as good as the previous one. Don't make the mistake of only turning right, if you go left at the T-junction, walk along to Mirzinies & Anna on the right hand side and you wont be disappointed. The best beach can be found going right at the T-junction, have a walk along the sand to the sand dunes (nudist bit here), check out the love seat made of driftwood. Have a walk up to the village of Argirades, walk through the olive groves near Mirzinies & Anna. This was a relaxing holiday, read loads on kindle and ate tasty Greek food.

Room Tip: Choose bed and breakfast on ground floor, rooms all been renovated and come with a fridge.

unless you are spending loads at the bar the owners do not want to know you. we stayed here for 12 days end may beginning June. On our last day We were being picked up at 5.30pm and asked for a room to leave our bags and to shower in we were told we would have to pay for it. some lovely people we had met offered their room to shower and get ready in. the owner actually followed us to the room and told us if we used another guests room we would have to pay for it I have been going to greece for 30 years and have never experienced such rudeness, he actually barred our entrance to our friends room. the restuarant does not serve greek food just chips chips and supermarket produce. the pool is lovely and location is excellent, the rooms are good nice private balcony 1st floor rear has evening sun. Just shame about the family two daughters and son just sit around on their mobiles with a dont care attitude. st george is a lovely place and we went there last year stayed at the Stars, Costas there is the perfect greek host but does not open until mid June otherwise we would have stayed there again he has a real greek taverna next to apartments. He has a website book direct its cheaper. We used Ryan Air from Stanstead excellent.

We had a fantastic stay at the Tzevenos apartments. The room was modern and the pool area was lovely and inviting. The staff were lovely and were accommodating with me as I am pregnant. We had a great week and felt like we could totally relax. We will go back next year.

7 of us stayed at end of August, beginning of September. We have been staying there for many, many years and as usual, Spiros and Amalia made our holiday feel very special. The rooms are clean and modern, the pool and bars are spacious with plenty of sunbeds and bar furniture and the food is excellent. Amalia will try her best to accommodate your taste buds! Many people return year after year which speaks volumes! St. Georges South is a beautiful resort with fantastic beaches and a lovely family run hotel. We will be back next year.

I have just returned from 10 days at the Tzevenos apartments and I have to say I would find it hard to fault. Some of the previous negative comments are not correct and the family are friendly and helpful. The rooms are cleaned and sheets and towels changed very two days. Tzevenos has a community atmosphere, everyone staying at the hotel was very friendly and the apartments are ideally situated right opposite a supermarket, bus stop and the only cash point in town. If you like a quiet, family run hotel with only 20 rooms then this is for you. Its also only a short walk from the main bars and restaurants and beach. We stayed B and B and although it was only tea and toast it was adequate and other options were available for a not unreasonable fee if required. We also had a fridge in our room which was handy. A number of people at the hotel had been back year after year and I can understand why. It would be a good hotel for single travellers. Aghios Georgios is itself a nice town, not too big and quiet with some good quality restaurants and beaches. We hired a bike for three days and cycled into the mountains and visited some beautiful traditional Greek villages such as Hlomos and Agrigades. There is a great boat trip from the beach as well to Paxos and AntiPaxos and we also saw dolphins there and on the way back.

Room Tip: Top floor at rear gets the best sun in the afternoons evenings
