Since you can drive from one end of Lefkada to the other in an hour tops, it is not far to go from wherever you are in Lefkada and see this beach. The road down is fine and it has parking at the beach which was not full even in August, the parking for the municipal is €3 but be there early and the parking for the private car park is €5. It is a walk of some 180 steps down to it and it looks really busy but actually it s quite easy to find a spot. The beach is not very deep or wide but even with all the cars and people there it is not that bad. If you are looking for shade you can easily lie under the cliff which is a bit daunting when you look up. The sea is very strong and deep very quickly , I would not recommend it for young children unless they are fully supervised. At the top of the steps are various cafes and also you can order from the beach, prices are okay for the service but dependent on your budget you can easily walk down with a cool box and towels. No sunbeds on the beach or umbrellas or rent and it is very hot during the day so be aware of this.
At the top before you go down and you can have some fantastic opportunities for photos of the beach and around from the viewing area.
One last thing, it is 30 minutes to the lighthouse from here, so turn right at the top of the road and go and see this, a fantastic drive and beautiful place to see Kefalonia and if you are lucky (and can find it), Apollo's temple)
