We have spent 10 wonderful days here in July 2014 and we can say only wonderful things about our holiday in Alexaria ! we stayed in a mezzanine apartment, very clean, cosy, friendly ,equiped with everything you need. The yard is an excellent place to spend the afternoons ,lots of flowers, trees, playground for kids ,bar and the pool...But what is really worth writing about is Mr Aris, the perfect host, the person capable to make any of his guests feel at home, a true proffessional, that respects the job he is doing, the people who come to Alexaria and the place he lives in. Very attentive to every detail, interested in knowing your opinion and caring about your well-being during your stay in Lefkada and in Alexaria...we felt like we had a friend in him! Every time we went to ask for an advice on what to visit or where to eat or buy stuff, he was more than thrilled to share with us what he knows, and yes, he knows a lot, we felt very spoiled:)
As it was my husband's birthday while on holiday, i asked him a big favour: to order an icecream cake for him to make him a surprise: Mr Aris did that and he did not let me pay for it because "it was the Greek hospitability he like to show to us".....you don't fiind this kind of treatment very often. We were really impressed. One day he told us he has a surprise for us and we found in the apartment a new matress for the bed downstairs, soft and cosy, brand new, for us to feel comfortable.....it was a suggestion of a previous client, and he was happy to listen to it. A great lesson of respect for his guests.
Some of the wonderful places with great food that he recommended for us were :Dalton's, Youpo Youpo, for meat lovers:),The Sunset (on Agias Ioannis) Frini sto Molo and Oasis....these last two my favorite ones, in terms of food, atmosphere..hmm, magical Greece:))
The beaches are most of them with gravel, and the water has that astonishing, jaw-dropping turquoise colour....our favourite were: Pefkoulia (careful though, there are big rocks as you get into the water,so..don't run), Kathisma (wonderful place with biiiig waves), Megali Petra with wonderful landscape, you don't want the day to end there, Agias Ioannis, close to Alexaria is great for windsurfing, but also for snorkelling lovers like we are. We visited Agias Nikitas, a small beach where you can take the boat to Milos Beach. Very crowded place, difficult to park there but beautiful place with lots of welcoming tavernas serving great food, especially sea food. Egremni Beach was a challenge since you have to drive a narrow, curvy road to get to the parking and then to go down 360 stairs....not so funny when you had to go back:)) and difficult to get away from the place since the road is not a two way one and you had to struggle to make way without messing up your car. Porto Katsiki was a little bit further and more spectacular than Egremni as we saw in pictures but we did not want to venture anymore.
All in all this summer our holiday was perfect especially because of our inspiration to choose Alexaria Holiday Appartments, a home far away from home. Thank you mr Aris!
