During the end of September it was almost empty. But still sunny and warm enough. Bach is clear and large with small stones mixed with hard sand.
Beautiful place to make photos.

Difficult to access but worth to go there at least one time when you are in Lefkada. The problem is that the turqoise color is formed by the moving stones and send by the wawes. Meaning that the water is not clear. Can't see anything with the mask.

A really great choice if you want to calm down.Don't forget to bring with you water, food etc (your own stuff) because there is nothing there for supplies. Very clean water, you can see at the bottom of the sea.

First let me say the drive to this beach is tough! It's very steep, has numerous hairpin turns, and there are often cars parked along the road, making it difficult to turn and almost impossible for other cars to pass. At one point I had to reverse quite a distance in order to let cars coming from the other direction pass me. There is limited parking near the beach, and so many people park along side the road.

That said, the beach is sorta two beaches. Kalamitsi is small, and not a whole lot of room and fills up quick with people. Further down the beach past the large boulders, to the south about 200 meters, is Megali Petra, a rather large beach, which is from what I can tell also part of Kalamitsi (perhaps both are the same beach). There were hardly any people at this beach and no large boulders taking up space like at Kalamitsi. Beautiful waters at both beaches, but I recommend strolling down to Megali Petra and enjoying the larger expanse of beach there.
