Really nothing exciting about this hotel. Very old, very small lobby. The rooms are almost funny, I'd dare to say retro, you think you are somewhere between the 60's and 70's. I didn't try the breakfast as I decided to eat elsewhere.

BUT, the views from the 7th floor are AMAZING, and the location is a great +. Plus I wouldn't say it's not clean. It's okay for 1 or 2 nights, if you have reason to stay downtown and not look for luxury.

Room Tip: high floor by far

We stayed at Almelia in 24th December 2011.

The hotel is in the perfect location. It is very close to Aristoteles square, Venizelos street, Ladadika and just opposite the Mediano Bazaar. The street that the hotel is located is really nice, with bakeries, fish market and restaurants.

The room we stayed had a little sea view. You could sea the marvellous sea between the two buildings. Although the hotel is located in the city centre, you could hardly hear voices from outside. The room is sound protected. the air conditioner in the room works well and heats the room. However it makes some noice since it is an old style air conditioner. The bathroom is really small. You hardly move yourself while taking a shower. In addition there is not any hair drier in the room.

The breakfast was simple but okay.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. You can leave your luggage in the hotel after you check out.

Overall we liked the hotel because we loved its location. I think i made the right choice for choosing this hotel instead of the hotels located on the Egnatia street.

This is a big hotel, that looks great outside, but is too old inside: old furniture and no good taste in decoration. The staff was very polite and helpful. The place was the best place to stay at,right in the city center. You can easily move to all directions. Although it was not dirty, it looks like dirty,as everything is old. The price was not as low as it should for such an old hotel, so, I think someone could find something similar at much lower price,or something better in that price. Parking on the front road is free only from saturday after 4.00- Monday morning at 8.00 and it is not easy to find a place during the day,as all shops are near

Convenient location and clean accommodation. Rooms could use a facelift. Breakfast is good, although selection is not big. Air conditioning in the rooms was not strong enough to combat the mid-summer heat. Reception is very friendly and helpful. For the price this was a good find.

I stayed 4 days in Amalia, two years ago. It is at a very nice place, you can walk everywhere in the city.Well, in the basic attractions . I was there with my parents, they paid, so I don't know how much. But they said it was not very expensive. My parents liked it. Me I think looks very old. Hotels Amalia are good hotels in all Greece. This was not bad, but needs renovation to be kept in shape. Not bad stay, but can be better. Breakfast was good. Reception parsonel very good. Nice smiles.
