I must admit that my last review was not as positive but we were glad to see that the loos were very clean so our last experience must have been a blip. So, onto the food and the place, and the service...all were very good. The food is great (large portions so watch out), with a special mention for the Byzantine beetroot salad. We also had fava beans with capers and the most delicious stuffed sardines with a warm salad of diced peppers. The Skordalia was also good. The good 'barrel wine' is available by the half kilo and there is a huge array of Ouzos and Tsipoures (which we did not try but many other people were having). Good value too.
BUT the top star goes to Dimitris, our waiter, with his signature gesture of 'let me pull up a chair by your table and take down your order',. He was really lovely, spoke good English and was patient and had a good sense of humour. Definitely a must-go place in Thessaloniki.
