We stayed in Capsis Thessaloniki during our holidays. Everything was perfect and the staff couldn't be more helpful and always friendly. This is a city Art hotel with amazing paintings at the reception area. We really enjoyed our stay there. The breakfast is very good with delicious greek delicasies.

I am giving an excellent rating because it is a 4 stars hotel! This hotel although is quite aged, has been through a major renovation and now has nothing to be jealous from the big 5* city hotels in Thessaloniki. I would recommend it without any second thoughts. The services and the overall image is one of the best from all the hotels that I' ve visited.

The area in which is located is very close to the city centre, however not the best area in the city... The roof pool in a must during the summer!

Room Tip: I was staying in room no 376 which had no window blinds and this was a bit difficult for me to keep on sleeping early in the morning

The location is very good. The hotel is glamorous - wonderful lobby with beautiful design, helpful receptionists, comfortable rooms, great air-conditioning. The swimming pool at the top of the hotel is something really great. The bar and the garden there are awesome too! And breakfast - oh, yeah, breakfast - huge range of food, and all of it delicious. Excellent experience! Note: there is an underground parking of the hotel, the entrance to which is from behind of the hotel. They charge 8 EUR per night but your car is safe.

I just stayed at the Capsis in Thessaloniki and loved it! The pool was by far the best part. It was on the roof overlooking the city. The pool staff was awesome. They wait on you hand and foot. The second you come in the pool area, they are there greeting you with fresh towels and cold water.

The hotel is only a 10-15 minute walk from the center of the city. It's a quiet part of town.

Pros: pool! Way bigger than the Electra palace's, good atmosphere helpful staff who brought round water for free and helped you get a sun bed when it was very busy.
Staff at reception and at the restaurant were nice too.

Nice 10 min walk into town (but also see cons below)

Close main bars and fun Saturday nights out.

Cons:
1) room is NOT 4 star! We thought it wasn't toooo bad when we first got there but then the air con wasn't cold and the bathroom door (which was made of glass) didnt close properly- so if you needed the loo and you were on a romantic holiday (like us)- it was quite embarrassing!!

2) the hotel is HOT!
During the day there is no air con on in the corridors or hall ways- the windows are opened. The gym was the worst!!! On the first floor it was like a sauna to walk in to- we could hardly run as I thought I was going to faint- it's a pokey box with a nice view of pigeons!!

3) the walk back to the hotel!
As soon as the sun goes down the prostitutes come out- and not subtly either!! Right on the corner of the hotel!
We also stepped over a dead rat on the path about 50 feet from the hotel.

Overall - not a disaster but wouldn't recommend it and we wouldn't consider staying here again.
