Capsis Hotel Thessaloniki
Ranked #21 of 58 Hotels in Thessaloniki
Reviewed 2 August 2014 via mobile

We enjoyed our visit at the hotel for several reasons. Firstly, the hotel is located at the city center. Do not bother taking a taxi to go to the city center. You can just walk around and it is quite safe. There is not much to see around though. Secondly, you can get almost all the comfort a five star hotel could provide. We had a delicious breakfast in a large restaurant. Also, there were quite enough towels, soap, and shampoo in our room. In many hotels it is not easy to get enough of these if you don't ask for more.

This place is a dump you cant even walk out of the hotel it is very dangerous you will get robbed. The streets are very dirty theres rubbish everywhere. The hotel is very hot they refuse to turn on the air conditions to save power you cant even breathe. The staff was not helpful they didnt care about anything. The food in the restaurant was shocking I was running in and out of the toilet. There is a glass door in the bathrooms that do not lock and is half open so you can see and hear eachother poo... this is definitely not a 4 star hotel it has been a nightmare for us... im absolutely disgusted and disappointed.

I was sceptic when booking about how it would turn out to be. But it was a
very nice hotel, clean rooms, big selection of food in breakfast and very tasty selections. The staff is very helpful willing to fulfill all our requests. The pool is a good choice for a swim during summer days. Good location, quite close to the center of Thessaloniki. Highly recommended.

Large congress hotel recently renovated. 15 min by foot to port, solid location. We had 3 bedded room on 5th floor-back view for 2 nights. Very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Very polite staff. Hotel has small swimming pool on the roof. There is also a modern fitness and gym(didn't use it, but looks OK) Only thing, that by mine thoughts, isn't good is policy that everyone can use swimming pool (not only for hotel guests) We were in hotel on working days and it was so crowded that I cant imagine how it looks on weekends! It is not an Olympic pool, its small pool maybe 10x7m and really I don't understand policy that locals can for one drink use pool all day. Guys who work up there are really kind and they will find for hotel guests sunbeds but don't expect relaxing pool day. Anyway, Thessaloniki has changed so much for years that I didn't recognize either Tsimiki or Egnatia street, everywhere are constructions (but workers cant be found) ....While you are there,if you are with kids use the time for visiting Water-land (free bus stops very close to hotel). For the price we paid this was an excellent choice and would stay here again if I get a chance in future.

Room Tip: Rooms with view of the back side of hotel (constructions in front of hotel)

I found Capsis very international! people from many places in the world, made a wonderful mix of guests. The room that i was given, was on the sith floor, overlooking the main steet of Thessaloniki. No noise at all- soundproof windows. The staff was always ready to assist me and advise me for the attractions af the area. The food was fantastic! I enjoyed the pool on the roof top and the gym with the free sauna. The parking was also a good point of this Hotel. If visitors arelloking for a connvenient stay in the city cerner, this hotel is an excellent option.
