“The birth place of Modern Turkey”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

It is a sobering thought that the father of Modern Turkey was born in Greece- and it is welcome that this museum is in Thessaloniki to remind everyone of the history of this refgion- the house although much altered is slightly shrine like - but it is well laid out and informative- and worth a visit

“His life is decried throug words and videos in the settting of the rooms of the house.”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

There are just a few old artifacts in the house that show what day-to-day life may have been like for his family growing up there. His younger days are more thoroughly captured in photographs and testimonials of the people who knew him; and later screen reels of this time as a leader.

“Interesting overview”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

Mostly phtographs and printed description, and the house has been completely redone into a museum, so no idea of what it looked like when Ataturk was born, but you'll get a comprehensive picture of his life and work.

“A must for Turks, a nice memorial for a great leader”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

It is the birthplace of the great Turkish leader Atatürk. He is considered as one of the greatest people in human history, so much that in 1981 it was decided that it will be celebrated as his year (100 years after his birth) in the whole world. His accomplishments, philosophy, leadership is too much to mention here but this place, although it doesn't contain any personal items or such,
is a great memorial for him.
Obviously it's a very emotional experience for Turks, it's the house we all read about in school, although there is not much too see, being there and reminding him is what matters. Anyone who heard /know of him, will be touched deeply.

“Could have been better.”
Reviewed 5 February 2014

We visited the house on our school field trip. It was great to see the birth place of Ataturk and where he grew up however the house felt barren. I wish they had added more pictures and original artifacts without completely rebuilding the house.
