“Excellent hotel, great breakfast, clean room, friendly staff”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

I stayed one night and everything was very good, the room, the bed, the bathroom all clean and comfortable, nice tv, very helpful and gentle staff and a great breakfast with the tastiest ''bougatsa'' i have ever eaten. Also great location at the heart of Thessaloniki.

I definitely recommend it.

I stayed at the Egnatia Palace in June 2012. I wanted a place downtown near Aristotle Square without having to pay an extraordinary amount. Egnatia Palace seemed to tick those boxes.
Breakfast was nice, rooms were very clean and comfortable (although not the biggest) with good amenities.
I was disappointed that the gym only opens from 2pm. I like to workout in the mornings. This is much more important when you are facing 40 degree weather!! The staff were nice.
Egnatia palace is also close to places of interest such the Levko Pyrgo and the Bey Hammam, whilst Tsimski Street and the paralia are very close by.

The Egnatia Palace is not a 5 star hotel, but it doesn't claim to be. It's a good Greek Hotel in a fantastic location. I would definitely stray there again next time I am in Thessaloniki.

Stayed for a night in egnatia palace with my wife and daughter in may 2013. Booked junior sweet to fit 3 of us. On arrival it turned out that all suits face one of the main avenues of thessaloniki, egnatia avenue. It gives good view, but creates problems for sensitive sleepers like i am. As a result, i had almost no sleep. If you choose this hotel, make sure you book the rooms facing the back yard. The rooms themselves are generally ok. A bit worn out and tired. I would reccomend refreshment as minimum to bathrooms. Breakfast was nothing special: standard selection of cold cuts, omelette and vegetables. Service from the staff was acceptable. Wifi was not always stable.

Stayed for one night which was Ok. Travelled with a couple of friends so I saw a few rooms.

-Rooms we clean but did smell of cigarete smoke.
-Small rooms
-Breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary.
-Free WIFI access with good coverage
-Rooms facing the road might be noisy for some
-Good central location
-Near bars and restaurants.

We asked for a late check out and got one room out of 3, which again was ok for our needs.

Room Tip: If you mind the road noise and dont mind the view ask for a back facing room.

The hotel is in a great location, very central, easy to find, about 5-10 minutes walk from the sea, and near lots of great places to eat and shop. The reception staff where always friendly and helpful, although a problem with my safe was not fixed until the day before I left. Also a shame that we were unable to use the pool etc for 2 days as they'd booked it out for external groups.
The breakfast was nice, although I'd reccomend getting there earlier rather than later as they do run out of some things, but happy to replace if you ask. The room itself was comfortable and spacious, and I didn't find any problems with noise.

I didn't have the pleasantest of stays, but the hotel does have some good features. The location is fabulous, and has great views of the plaza across the street. And, the breakfast is superb! Very hearty, and the Greek yogurt is to die for! Rooms are decent, not necessarily four star, but decent. Unfortunately, I had difficulties with the maintenance of my room and experienced poor customer service. I booked a more expensive room with a Jacuzzi tub, which was broken. And there was "nothing that could be done." The receptions was inattentive and unapologetic, and of course there was no manager to be found. The reality is, there was probably both cultural and language barriers, but according to an American it was NOT a 4 star handling of the situation.

After a long day travelling, we selected this hotel based on reviews here, given it's supposed quality\ price ratio.
Check in was easy, rooms are dated and furniture chipped, our TV didn't work and once we had finally convinced them that it was broken we were told there was nothing they could do, not even move rooms.
Breakfast is average, meats, cheese, bread and bacon.
Overall if you get a room for under €50 then it's a good location to explore Thessaloniki, just don't expect 4 star service or quality
