“Must-do in Thasos”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

You will best enjoy the Mount Ipsarion on foot. The road is not too steep but at some parts of the road it is difficult to find good spots to place the foot. Therefore I advise a pair of good walking shoes and absolutely walking sticks. Do not wear shorts because the dry weed may be disturbing at some overgrown paths. Thasos is a source or marmor throughout the history; and you will see impressive marmor blocks and rocks on your way.
Last words; do not forget bringing lots of water in summer and a camera.

“A great day out on Jeep Safari.”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

The roads up to the top were very rocky and steep with some hair raising bends! But the view from Mount Ipsarion on a clear day are fabulous. Much better to book a Jeep Safari trip up to here than try to negotiate the roads yourselves. The drivers on these tours are very skilled and they know the roads like the back of their hands. They also have good local knowledge of the places you visit.

“Mount Ipsarion Walk”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Excellent walk from Potamia - Beautiful scenery and what a view from the top!
The walk is hard going so take water and be sure to wear sensible shoes rather than flip flops

This is the most amazing place, you can see the whole of the beautiful Island of Thassos from here, the views are simply amazing!!! and worth the tricky and long drive to the top, can't wait to go again.

“heavenly view”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

took a 4 hour walk from Potamia to Mount Ipsarion. The effort is worth it as the view and the road there are amazing. The forest you cross looks like a magical forest with very old trees and fresh cold water. Simply amazing. Walking there is the best choice for the view.
