Even though it's out of the way of Athens, you could squeeze this into your trip to Nafplion. The thing about this site is that it is doesn't take long to explore everything.

“One massive rock”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Mycenae was a fortified late Bronze Age city with an impressive entrance known as the Lion Gate. Nearby are several beehive shaped tombs. The most impressive of these semi-subterranean sites is strangely known as the Treasury of Atreus with the impressive stone door lintel estimated to weight 120 tons – the largest in the World! Just how was that moved to its location?

“Totally bis, don't bother”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

Being impatient by nature, I headed to Mycenae first instead of to this little side "treasury", and picked this one up on my way back.

There are three beehive tombs at the main site, the one at this site is just another beehive tomb that is slightly bigger.

Really bis, and should not have bothered stopping at it.

“Worth Seeing”

Amazing ancient architecture. Be sure to stop and take a look before heading up the mountain, believed to possibly be the tomb of Agamemnon.

“Best beehive tomb”
Reviewed 14 February 2014

Although in some ways, all there is to see is an empty space, it's an extraordinary piece of ancient building. How did they move all those stones and build such an impressive piece of architecture without our tools and our computers?
