“Overrated, but ok”
Reviewed 16 June 2012

This restaurant was the only place recommended by our hotel, and I think they were getting kick backs on the references. It was ok food, and an ok Greek tavern (with a lot of flies!), but we were virtually ignored once a single local couple came in. The TV was then turned on and the channel changed repeatedly to suit their desires even though it was clear we were also watching the TV now. We left before we could be offered any dessert, and felt a little cheated.

“One of the best choices in Olympia”
Reviewed 12 May 2012

First of all, the right name is I Thea (The View, "I" being an article, which could be safely dropped). The tavern overlooks a valley which looks very impressive despite catastrophic wildfires that destroyed all the woods in the proximity. A friend and I visited slightly off season in early May (but in time for the Olympic flame ceremony). The menu was quite extensive and our choices were very good (rabbit with lemon sauce and "chirino pasto"- a local pork dish with eggs). The downside was the Greek salad: tomatoes were not ripe enough and the feta cheese was bland. But overall the quality was very good. The prices were pretty reasonable too. In sum, one of the best choices in Olympia, where most of the restaurants sadly are tourist traps. Notice that in order to get to Thea, you will need your own transport. It is located in a village called Flakas, a 1,5-kilometer uphill drive from Olympia's church square.

“Best Meal in Greece, Pleasant Balcony, Good Service”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

We had a great, memorable meal here. The manager of Hotel Kronio recommended this restaurant and it was a winner. Well worth the short drive from Olympia.

“Great local place to eat”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

Rural taverna with good food and a nice fire place. Zuchinni balls and grilled chicken were very good. House wine was good. Parking is on the street. I would not follow the parking sign, unless they make some changes to provide a turn around area.
