After a week of gyros, souvlaki, etc. we found this great restaurant in Olympia Greece. The Aegean Restaurant is just a few paces off the main street through town (E-55) under a canopy formed by large overhanging trees. The homemade beef stew (local, we're told) on rice was tender and seasoned perfectly. It's just like mama made; no pale, crock pot facsimile here. The cabbage rolls were also delicately-flavored in a bechamel sauce that wasn't too rich.
The evening was topped off with homemade baklava, strong coffee and Statnis brought us some apples with honey and cinnamon. The price was moderate.
The service was prompt and friendly. As the tables filled during the dinner hour, we noticed the pace of service was calm and efficient.
