“Overall, a lovely hotel choice with a couple of minor niggles. ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014 via mobile

This hotel is situated atop an impressive hill above Olympia, with the commanding views you would expect from such a location. The pool area is very impressive, with a sizeable pool and bar, adjacent to an on-site taverna with one of the most lovely outdoor eating areas we've ever seen, overlooking the rolling countryside below. In fact, we were bitterly disappointed that we had already eaten dinner before arriving, as the menu also had plenty of choice and very reasonable prices.
The room itself was more than adequate, with plenty of space and excellent air conditioning. The only things that slightly underwhelmed us were the outdated TV, slightly firm beds and oddly shaped bathtub that wasn't especially comfortable to stand in whilst having a shower. These, of course, are minor issues.
One final criticism is that, immediately upon arrival, we were approached by a member of "concierge" asking if we had a reservation before we'd even had a chance to park the car! He then proceeded to guide us to reception and then our room, and insisted on showing us every basic thing, such as how to operate the lift, switch on different lights in the room, and even how to open the patio doors to our terrace. Some people might find this level of attentiveness appealing, but unfortunately, being quite independently minded, we found it unnecessary and off putting.

Unfortunately we didn't stay here longer ... just overnight. I'd rather have had at least a couple of nights here.

Hotel is modern and well placed on top of a hill, but out of the town ... so we didn't venture down there. Nice pool area. Restaurant was very good at both Dinner and Breakfast and there is also the option to eat out next to the pool.

Rooms very large and comfortable with everything you need

Room was a bit dated, but clean and cozy, with professional and courteous staff. You can't lose with the hotel restaurant for breakfast or dinner. The fresh squeezed orange juice won the day, at breakfast. We arrived late and was unable to partake of the pool area.

This hotel is walking distance from the train station and was an easy transfer to our cruise ship. It has clean and spacious rooms. The breakfast was not that great. The staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly.. The garden was lovely.

This might sound like a cliché: But this hotel is probably the best I've ever stayed at. Friendly and professional service. Lovely swimming pool and lovely restaurant with a beautiful view. Everything was clean and well maintained and the atmosphere was good among staff. A very special place.

Perhaps it was the universally bad reports from friends who had stayed in other hotels in this region or the fact that Olympia is not exactly the most cutting edge town on earth. But whatever it was, I had absolutely zero expectations about this hotel.

Boy oh boy was I so pleasantly surprised. Everything about this hotel is perfect. Breathtaking location high on the hill above this ancient city. The traditional stone and wood materials used in the building. A magnificent swimming pool. Very large, clean and comfortable rooms. Brilliant staff who go out of their way to help and to please!

Most of all on the evening I arrived I enjoyed the lovely outdoor taverna in a garden setting just behind the pool area. The setting was spectacular and the food was great too.

Then the next morning that was topped by breakfast which included a series of local delicacies as well as the usual favourites.

If you travel to Olympia you must stay in this hotel. In fact, it is worth travelling there just to stay at the Europa. And I am not easily pleased!

We were given a room in the building next to the main building. The corridors were narrow and had steps making it difficult with luggage. Decent sized room, bathroom and balcony. There is supposed to be wifi in room but connection was touch and go, not the best. The breakfast and the dinner buffet were ordinary. You see a beautiful sunset from the outdoor dining area near the pool which was big.
