Best thing about the hotel was its proximity to the Ancient Olympia site. The whole place could do with an update but was fine for a couple of nights. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were fine. Room reasonable size, clean and had a balcony.

The nearest hotel to the Ancient Olympia site, at the end of the main street and facing the small town hall and the old Olympic Games museum which has lots of story boards giving you the background info behind how the games were organised etc. Our room was a bit tired as some of the paint was peeling off the walls high up, but otherwise the room was very clean and comfortable. Staff very pleasant; had a job connecting to the free wifi but receptionist was an IT expert and fixed it. Had a buffet evening meal which was OK and plentiful, just not particularly inspiring. Would recommend if you get a good price and are there to visit the antiquities.

The Olympia Palace is situated in the heart of the small village of Olympia and is run very professionally by the one family.

The rooms are reasonable size but the bathroom is a bit small for my liking but nevertheless practical.

It has a great restaurant and the meals that we had, dinner and breakfast, were excellent. The staff were helpful although the internet was a hit and miss affair (none of our group were able to log on).

The main street of Olympia is just outside and there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops to purchase items a lot cheaper than elsewhere in Greece. The ruins of Olympia are just down the road within walking distance as is the beautiful but small museum both of which are worth a visit.

Stayed here for a night as part of Cosmos/Archers trip. Right opposite the hotel is the Olympic Museum a let down! Very little labelled and not much different than anything else seen in Olympia Museum! A short walk about 20 mins and you reach the famouds Olympic stadium awesome place. the steps to get to this place are opposite the hotel. Toiletries in the bathroom. The room was a bit noisy as we are close to the street The hotel has a very good restaurant where our group had a buffet meal. Plenty to choose from hot and cold food. Visit the local station about 5 mins walk. Plenty of shops open until late 10pm and cafes. safe place to walk around in. Everyone was very frindle. A supermarket was in the main street.

Room Tip: side street room best

This is the only large hotel in the town of Olympia that is low priced and well managed. The breakfast is bountiful. Only complaint: the wireless is very erratic.

We stayed at the Olympia Palace for two nights in late October, our choice driven by the fact that we wanted a reasonably-priced hotel within walking distance of the archaeological site of Ancient Olympia as well as the 'downtown' of the modern village; and with a view, if possible. The Olympia Palace is the closest of the Olympia hotels to the site, and if you ask for rooms on the upper floor at the front, you see the site's trees even if not the antiquities. As for proximity: the hotel is a five-minute walk from the site entrance. Our rooms were plain but comfortable and clean; the bathrooms very small, with tub-showers that are tiny and hard to access. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. On one of the mornings we were there, we were the only people in the hotel, and instead of a buffet we were served an enormous breakfast a la carte. The next day, a group arrived, so they and we were given a varied, good breakfast buffet. The hotel is also close to the village's main street and restaurants: the only drawback to its location is the noise from the tour busses, especially mid-morning, when they all arrive, and later in the afternoon, when they leave. However, the nights were quiet; and in any case one shouldn't be in the hotel room during the day while in Olympia. We paid 75 E per night per double room including breakfast, and felt it was well worth it. We have been to Olympia a number of times, but this was our first stay at the Olympia Palace, and we were so pleased we'll certainly stay here again.
