A must see for any athlete, this is the place where it all started! Get the feel of being an olympian in the old days.

“Take suncream - so much to see and so little shelter”
Reviewed 4 April 2014

My tip would be to visit in the early evening, because the ticket is still valid in the morning. There is so much to see and a real thrill to be walking in the footsteps of ancient olympians nearly three millenia ago. And who can resist running a couple of hundred metres in the authentic original stadium? But it is very exposed to the sun and must get crowded in peak season.

“Amazing to see”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

It was amazing to visit the birthplace of the Olympic Games and see all the ancient ruins surrounding it. You can even walk through the arch entering the stadium, then go to the starting line and run the ancient track. It's a beautiful, peaceful place and much larger than I expected. There are many ruins of ancient buildings and temples so be prepared to walk a lot if you visit there.

“Fascinating site”
Reviewed 27 March 2014

Large complex, beautiful flowers and trees, amazing ruins of temples of the gods. We visited at the end of March and it was quiet. The original Olympic site takes you back in time! History is well illustrated on signs throughout the site.
This is where the Olympic Games started, so a must for sport lovers but also a must for those who like to visit Ancient Greece.
Wear good walking shoes!

“A Wonder of the World”
Reviewed 20 March 2014

I loved the whole atmosphere, shells incorporated into the building walls to make them strong, temples to the ancient gods, big beautiful trees for shade, large complex. Surprises everywhere, wish I could have stayed longer than 3 hours to soak it all in.
