When visiting the Peloponnese you really should go to Olympia and visit the museums and ancient site. It was the second time in 7 years that I visited the hotel. It is run by a very nice family. They really try to make your stay as pleasant as they can.
It is almost in the center of Olympia but it is still quiet enough to enjoy your sleep.
The museums and ancient site are in walking distance from the city center and the hotel.

Room Tip: It is nice to have your room on the first or second floor. Less street noise.

We stayed here for one night, to visit the site. The staff are very friendly, it's centrally located, you can walk to the site. Breakfast was ok, cereal / yoghurt etc. The only thing that we found needed improving was the shower in our room. It was very small, a large man or woman, or a parent washing a small child would not be able to move or bend down.

We truly enjoyed our stay with these lovely hosts, Theo and Suzanna! Also, their handsome son, Achis teaches kite surfing! We would most certainly return to them, when visiting Olympia!Great location, super friendly staff, and Suzanna is a wonderful cook who may give a cooking class if you are very lucky!!!

Great hospitality, friendly faces, nice big room and nice location. No complaints! Nice common areas to walk by and a big balcony to sit and relax. The bed was very comfortable. Good breakfast. Overall great value for money!

Very friendly family run Hotel ideally and quietly located just off a short main
street in Olympia, easy walking distance to the site of ancient Olympia and its
archaeological museum. Our room was very clean with a small balcony
overlooking the local church and a stretch of main street. The morning breakfast
buffet was more than adequate. Parking is free and not a problem.
All the staff was helpful. We've already recommended the Pelops
to several friends planning a trip to Olympia.

You imagine that Olympia is going to be overpriced and overrun with tourists. Not so, it's quiet and laid back and the Hotel Pelops is the ideal place to stay. A friendly, informative welcome to this family run hotel, clean, comfortable rooms, easy parking, and we had a lovely room with a large balcony overlooking the church. Easy walking to the archaeological site (about 5 mins). The site is best visited either early or late. We did the site early morning (8.30ish) and thus avoided the tour coaches from the cruise ships. By 11.00 it was getting hot and crowded so we just wandered back to the town for a drink and a bite (The tours don't seem to stop in the village so it's pretty quiet). Back to The Pelops for an afternoon siesta, and then The Archaeological Museum in the early evening (doesn't close 'till 8.00). A wander back to the village for supper at one of the restaurants recommended by our hosts at Hotel Pelops. And so to bed. A relaxing, hassle free day. We highly recommend it and would certainly stay at The Hotel Pelops again.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room at the front

This hotel has gorgeous common areas and is run by very friendly staff. My room was nothing special and opened onto a quiet street in the quiet town of Olympia. We parked on the street in front of the hotel and then walked around the town for dinner and dessert. The next day we drove to the parking lot for Ancient Olympia so we could make a quick exit to our next destination, but we could have walked since everything there is walkable.
