“An absolute gem”
Review of Bisti Beach

Reviewed 10 August 2014

I've been to many Greek islands - some of them much less visited than Hydra - but I thought Bisti was one of the loveliest beaches I have been to, even though it is pebbly and organised, in the sense that you have to pay for the use of an umbrella and loungers. We were there in July, when it was busy, but even so it was peaceful, the water was clear and lovely for swimming and the pine forests behind were beautiful. The beach bar serves great Greek salads, that they make on the spot, as well as sandwiches, and it was a treat to find that most of the others on the beach were respectful and quiet. The boat trip there is enjoyable, too, and it became something to look forward to - a lovely way to see the coastline of Hydra.

Bisti beach is an absolute must visit beach in Hydra.

Everything about this beach is just out of this world. The fresh smell of the pine trees, crystal clear water, the serene ambience and the lovely unspoilt beach just provide the perfect setting to spend a wonderful and romantic few hours.

I can highly recommend to take your own picnic basket - just to add to the romantic and serene ambience of this lovely unspoilt beach.

Not to be missed!

the top beach in hydra! enjoy the ride with the sea taxi. sun umbrellas are available and do try the real Greek salad from the can tine on the back. real tomatoes, onions, pepper, olive oil, cucumber (feta cheese, so & so) and fresh thyme.
swim to left bay for another fantastic secluded beach and visit the small chapel.
swim also to the right. in both cases the sea deep is fantastic and full of fish.

We hopped on a boat from hydra to this beach. 12 euros round trip. This is a lovely, quiet beach. I'd recommend renting an umbrella and beach chairs, 6 euros for the pair. There is a small stand that sells drinks and basic snacks. No bathrooms. There were sea urchins scattered about, so bring watershoes or watch where you step. Many people were snorkeling.

It was lovely taking the boat from Hydra port, as we got to see the other beaches along the way and you get a new perspective on the island. Bisti itself is lovely; just some deck chairs for hire, pine trees, and a little kiosk to buy drinks. Really nice and peaceful.
