My boyfriend and I spent the first two weeks travelling round different islands in the Saronic Gulf of Greece, and Spetses was our first stop after a night in Athens.
We worried a little bit about finding the hotel as the night before we'd got lost finding our hotel in Athens, but we really needn't have worried. After getting off the ferry we found the Armata was really well signposted. It's located on a little quiet street behind the Poseidonion Grand Hotel - such a perfect location, so close to all the wonderful bars and restaurants of Spetses.
The moment we walked into the hotel we just loved it. It is quite possibly the most clean hotel I've stayed at. Sure, it's a petite hotel, but everything you need is there, and it just feels so quaint.
The furniture in the rooms and the hotel felt really right - really timeless and not just a load of cheap IKEA furniture to please the modern traveller.
The room had a view of the pool and the sea. At night the pool had these really lovely balls of light floating in it, which looked lovely.
In the day the pool felt really private because there aren't a lot of rooms in the hotel, and the pool only has around 5 sunbeds, you almost felt like you were in a pool in a private villa.

George the guy who worked on reception was especially helpful, without being overbearing. You knew he was always there if you needed to ask anything.
We loved our time in Spetses, and we really hope to return in the not too distance future.More
