Agios Dimitrios is the beach you see on the postcards when you talk about Alonissos. It is a tongue that goes inside the sea in a very soft way. Water here is perfectly transparent so you have a great snorkeling activity. There are a couple of Taverna in the surroundings

Though one of the most popular beaches of the island, I found the scenery a little monotonous and the water clean but not transparent.

Beautiful, clear waters, child-friendly and amazing views. The only disadvantage is that you have to pay for the use of the umbrellas for 6 euros (very expensive) and it doesn't offer a coffee or a bottle of water in return.

An excellent beach for everyone, even little children! Very clean! You have to pay for lying under the umbrellas around 6 euros for 2 persons and the nearby pub is rather expensive

I personally like sandy beaches, and I would not rank it the best beach. Once you have negotiated the rocks, the bottom of the sea gets very sandy and the water is very clear. Further towards where there is a small restaurant, it gets very sandy and pretty. The best beach in my opinion is Gold Milia (Χρυσή Μηλιά). There are two beaches separated by rocks in the same bay. The northern beach is very sandy and pretty.
