We were delighted to be able to book this hotel over the Internet despite our local travel agent saying it was full. We had a very nice room on the second (top) floor with a sea view. The hotel is very well located, right on the beach and close to tavernas, a shop and the bus stop. The staff were all very helpful and we were very happy with the maid service, the cleanliness of the hotel and the quality of the breakfasts. The bus service in Skiathos is reliable, frequent and inexpensive. This was our second visit to Skiathos and we will return if time permits. We would certainly choose the Troulos Bay Hotel again.

Room Tip: We were very happy with a second (top) floor room with a sea view and balcony. There might be some r...

If you can't relax and chill out here, then you'll never relax anywhere! Set right on the beach with a great view. All the staff are really friendly and the rooms perfectly comfortable. Safe and fridge in room at no extra cost. Air con is available at a modest charge, as is the case in most Greek hotels. Wi-fi was good, I had no problem accessing the internet in our room. Room was on the first floor with wonderful views over the beach and out to sea. The whole place was very clean. Breakfast was fine and it was nice to eat out on the terrace. Evening meals in the hotel were also good, although we only ate here twice at night as we like to try different places. Snack bar by the pool was great and was run by a very hardworking young lady.
Yes, there are a lot of more mature guests who have been coming here for years and one or two of them are a little vocal and opinionated, but it was quite amusing listening to them!! Certainly didn't spoil our holiday. Loads of sun beds available around the pool and they remained available throughout the day. Never saw people reserving them and then not appearing. Most people seemed to prefer the beach, which was great for us as most of the time we had the pool to ourselves! Easy to get to Skiathos Town for shopping or Koukinaries if you want a huge beach to lie on all day. So nice to be in a place where you are not surrounded by the loud, tattooed, football shirt wearing brigade! Overall, a great holiday on a beautiful island.

Room Tip: Sea view room on the first floor was great.

We went there this year with my daughter and her children. The staff in TBH couldn't do enough for the children. We were told by Thomson that my daughter would have a twin room with four beds but the hotel put them in a family room. Everyone from the owners to the ladies who cleaned the rooms were helpful, cheerful and accommodating. The pool and the beach were spotless. The only minus was the miserable old couple who verbally attacked my daughter at the pool because they didn't like the noise the children were making in the pool. I spoke to the Thomson rep who said they were out of order as TBH is a family hotel. Luckily the miseries left the next day.
Food in the restaurant was the same good quality as last year. The waiters were great.
We only got home on Tuesday and have already booked to go back next year.

Room Tip: If you want wifi in your room you need one over the reception, otherwise you have to do your surfing...

I visited the Troulos Bay Hotel with my daughter for late May/June, Our criteria for a hotel is a Thomson Small and Friendly, not too far from the beach. So when we booked this last December it was within our budget and right on the beach which is a first for us, we were well pleased and all reviews were excellent.
The hotel is so well run by an excellent family team (2 brothers their wives, and extended family), all the staff - waiters, reception team, room girls, gardener were super friendly and happy to chat, which makes a holiday for us.
The room was as good as any UK hotel room even a shower head wall fixture not just hand held which we have had elsewhere you cannot fault the rooms, good sized fridge, hairdryer, safe included, air con is available from Mid June. Good sized balcony

First 3 hours wifi free (ask at reception) then a nominal fee there after (just remember to turn off your wifi once you have used it

Breakfast is included on a Thomson package it is sufficient the usual cereal, juice, toast, yoghurt even sometimes fresh fruit, really good coffee and if we wanted anything the waiters would get it for you (if you into scrambled eggs and sausages it was there too)

We have visited other islands and have always tried a different Taverna every night and gone back to a favourite on the last night.

At the Troulos Bay after our first dinner we knew we would probably eat here the whole week, to be able to sit so close to the beach, eat superb Greek food (there is an excellent choice of both Greek and British cuisine) and everything was so fresh, reasonably priced, infact we only ate at one other Taverna the whole week.

All in all I cannot fault the hotel or the staff.

The majority of guests are British we only meet two other couples staying there from other countries in Europe that week.

There are many returns there who think it is 'their' hotel, We were asked if we were "The new people from ********"!! they liked to put their towels on the same 'free' sunbeds at the pool by 8:00 am and not claim the beds for ages. I guess there is little the Hotel or Thomson can do about this as I know from experience that this happens short removing towels from unclaimed sunbeds by a set time which I have seen done.
At the beach right in front of the hotel sunbeds which you pay for at the hotel reception and your 'receipt' is collected from you by the friendly attendant during your day on the beach.
The sunbeds are not exclusively for the hotel guests, a number of Brits staying elsewhere on Skiathos who must spend weeks and weeks on the island they were so brown!! take their favourite beds quite early. It was a bit like walking down your local High Street, people greeting one another and passing the time of day. There is a pool bar but no beach service but it wasn't any hassle to go get your Frappe or whatever took your fancy parasols were missing the little drinks stand and you end up with sand in your lap after your frappe has been put in the sand but the view made up for a lap full of sand!

All in All we would gladly go back to the Troulos Bay Hotel everything makes for a easy holiday we were happy to spend our time in Troulos and if you want a more lively evening take yourself off to Skiathos Town for the evening just 13 euros for a taxi or 4 euros on the bus.

Thank you Troulos Team
We will see you

If you are under 60 years of age don't go to this hotel! People go back year after year and think they own it! claiming the same sun beds everyday and don't dare sit on them!
Rooms are very basic paying extra for air conditioning, One beach towel per week and no laundry service it's more like a semi retirement home. Breakfast was dreadful - once something ran out that was it! Staff are pleasant and the beach is pretty but you are nervous of enjoying yourself or making a noise as you can get told off by the English 'residents'. Food is ok but they make it for the English clientele where we prefer more traditional food.
There is even a lady on the beach that has a bed for her dead husband beside her all a bit odd!

Room Tip: Probably on the first floor with sea view

This great hotel sits in a quiet pretty little bay and is a real gem, not too big.
The common areas/bar/restaurant/pool and pool area were kept spotlessly clean and the gardens were a joy. The pool which included a shallow kids friendly bit was 5 star quality.
Wi-fi is available for the techno types.
Our bedroom was the fairly basic Greek style but the furniture, fixtures and fittings were spot on [inc more than enough storage space, fridge, TV, free safe and air con (payable locally)].
The bathroom, and especially the shower, was one of the best we've come across!!! [I'm really picky about stuff like this.]
Towels and linen were changed more frequently than in most places and were spotlessly clean.
All the members of staff were cheerful and helpful and were ready to share a joke or a laugh, but they didn't go too far.
The breakfast buffet was more than ample for all but the choosiest of tastes and each day different items appeared. There is nothing like fueling up for the day sitting overlooking the sea and distant mainland.
We found the range of food and drink in the terrace bar/restaurant was excellent as was the range of drinks, ice creams and snacks in the pool bar. The quality was top notch as you would expect and not too expensive - bonus!!!!!
You could reserve your beach [shade & 2 sunbeds = 8 euros] and pay for them at reception.
If you can fault this hotel etc - well there's just no pleasing some people.

Room Tip: Most rooms overlook the pool/gardens/sea with only a few on the side, so avoid these if you want the...
