We stayed at Kanapitsa Mare and must say that we had a great experience. Firstly, we purposely chose not to pre book all of our accommodation in Greece and preferred to choose places that we thought were in great locations as we drove along.
I've read some negative reviews and am surprised they are talking about this Hotel, as my experience was wonderful.
We were impressed with the appearance and maintenance of the Hotel. Our room was large and clean. My husband has back issues, however he woke up fine every morning.We have stayed in many rooms, hotels and resorts throughout Europe and have found that beds tend to be on the hard side. You can always request softer pillows or mattresses from room service.
We enjoyed swimming in the pool, which may I add, was very clean. We drank some great cocktails from the bar too! There is no restaurant at the Hotel, however the snacks are sufficient. I can't believe people complaining about this; snacks are merely snacks. If you want to eat at a restaurant, just cross the road and enjoy some really great food.
The air conditioner was dripping, I notified housekeeping and it was repaired within the hour. Our room and balcony were cleaned daily and new toiletries were left each time.
I am in the hospitality and customer service industry and know too well how customers should be treated. When I could not connect my laptop to the internet, the Manager was so accommodating, he spent a great deal of his time assisting me. He even saw me the following day and asked me if everything was okay?
Breakfast was the typical type served throughout Greece...fresh and tasty.
I agree with some reviews, the hotel does not have an abundance of staff, but keep in mind this is a 3 star Hotel and whenever we needed anybody, staff were there, from the receptionist, barman, house keeping and maintenance. If you want 5 star service, then this is not the place for you; but then again, a 5 star hotel would charge a lot more to stay at (I know, as we were quoted over 500 euros a night from a hotel not too far from there).
I recommend Kanapitsa hotel and would like to add that in many instances, most issues travelers have can always be rectified by being polite and not presenting themselves in a loud and arrogant manner. Yes, we can complain about many issues, eg. I didn't get a refund.If you booked a non refundable room, then you will not be refunded. Don't go on Trip advisor criticizing hotels when you are at fault. It gives prospective travellers a very
one sided opinion and onlymakes selecting hotels difficult.
