“SPOT ON DIAMOND GEEZER”
Reviewed 20 May 2013

Why oh why do we keep going to the Villa Apollon, I will tell you why, its just the best. Spent Easter (the Greek one) with Captain and Dounia and their family and friends and had just the best time.
I wondered why previous reviews had waited so long before mentioning their concerns. In all the years we have known Captain & Dounia, any problem no matter how small, if they know about it, they fix it. We too spend a lot of time on the beach, and to be honest we have never noticed anyone to be treated any differently in the Apollon
Works to the rooms has been completed over the winter months, a new bright fresh feel to all with some new furniture as well. Food at the bar no different really just as wonderful as ever, and in ample portions. Island was quiet whilst we were there, early season, but just as magic as usual. Some shops around town gone or moved, new ones popped up. Fabulous new restaurant in the main street in town "ERGON" well worth a visit.
Anyway thanks again Captain and Dounia and your staff for looking after us and making us feel as if we are really welcome, as we know we are.

Magical stay at the villa Apollon. All traditional Greek Easter. Delicious food cooked by the wonderful hosts Dounia and captain!!!! The kids had a great time too at the pool. The rooms were renewed since last year. Thank you very much!!! See you soon....

We stayed at Villa Appollon in July 2012 and had a fantastic time. The Villa is situated near to everything you will need and taxi`s are readily available to take you to the town or further beach clubs and restaurants. The host`s Captain and Dounia were absolutely fantastic, Dounia did everything to make our stay comfortable and safe for us and our 3 year old Louis( who had the best time by the pool every day).Captains bar skills are second to non,you must try the 1/2 pint black sambuca as a night cap.The food also was spectacular with captain on the grill, his two ended village sausage and chicken are a must.Towels and linen were fine and I don`t think anyone would change their bath towels on a daily basis. If you want a holiday that in the day you can go and explore or stay by the pool and relax in peace, then this is for you.Evening time there is allways good food and company to be had by the will stocked and served bar.

Room Tip: We loved the rooms by the pool as we one of us could allways be by the pool for our son Louis

We stayed at the Villa Apollon in July 2012 and on arrival found it to have lovely views and a clean attractive swimming area. However, the cleaning of the rooms left a lot to be desired; the sink in the bathroom wasn't cleaned for the full fortnight, there were crumbs of pizza in the microwave from the previous occupants and the blind on the back of the door was broken in several places and looked unsightly. Although a lot of guests seemed to find Dounia to be wonderful with them, we found that as we enjoyed going to the beach each day, and therefore weren't buying meals and many drinks from the bar, she was not as friendly with us as my sister and husband who stayed by the pool. When we did buy drinks or food from Dounia she insisted on adding them to my sister's bill and would comment that we could "sort it out between us as it is easier this way" rather than bill us separately. Captain however was lovely and very friendly and his barbecue on the evening we ate in was very good. There are lots of wonderful restaurants in Skiathos Town, we loved the island and would return there but not to the Apollon.

I stayed at the Villa Apollon in July 2012 and want to give a fair review of my experience there. First of all the hotel is in a great position and the pool area is lovely. The Captain is a very friendly host who will do his best for his guests. However there are some negatives I feel I need to warn potential guests about.

The rooms are tired, in need of updating and not as clean as I would expect. On our third day there I left 2 dirty towels on the bathroom floor expecting them to be changed. I was horrified when we returned to our room later that day to find that the same dirty towels had been put over the balcony to dry and were not replaced. In fact the towels are only changed every 4 days. Underneath the bed was never swept or mopped and the bathroom sink wasn't cleaned for the entire 2 weeks. Towards the end of our stay I also noticed that the microwave oven in our room was covered in food from the previous occupants.

It is a pity that something as basic as cleanliness is spoiling what could be a very nice hotel but if you are prepared to put up with this then by all means stay at the Villa Apollon.

Have been here for the past 18 years and it is No. 1 on Skiathos Island as far as I am concerned. Dounia and Captain, the owners, always make us very welcome. As they do with all their other guests. Breakfast every morning, and especially the Sunday Special, is terrific. I will certainly be returning, very soon, I hope.
Everywhere is very clean and tidy, the rooms are fairly spacious, with all the necessities that you need for "Self-Catering", but self-catering is not necessary as Dounia and Captain cook the most gorgeous meals in the evening.

This was our second time to Skiathos and our first to Villa Apollon. We booked the hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and we were not let down! The location is brilliant and the views are spectacular. Food really tasty and good value for money. Having the boat taxi to Skiathos Town a few minutes away was really handy. Achladies is a wonderful beach will good restaurants. We hired a boat for a day from the very helpful Achaldies Beach Sports. I can highly reccomend it and them. Spent many evenings in the bar at Villa Apollon, didn't find it clique at all and everybody was really friendly and sociable. The room was slightly small for the four of us but Dounia kindly offered us a bigger room but the view from our bedroom and being right next to the pool more than made up for the size of the room. The air conditioning was really good and the shutters kept the room dark which was handy for lie ins! Our boys loved the pool and hardly got out of it the first few days! Thank you Captain and Dounia for a wonderful holiday. Hope to be back one day!
