“Amazing; Fantastic; Brilliant”

After great early flight, arrived at the fantastic Apollon and were sat having a welcome beer ( or 2! ) with the lovely owners Captain and Dounia by 10.45am! It was a privilige to stay at such a beautiful apartment. Nothing is too much trouble for Captain and Dounia - they are there 24/7 making sure you have fun and have everything you want. We were lucky enough to meet up with a fab crowd during our 2 week stay - Kaz, Chris, Carol, Mike, Lynda, Richard, Dale, Wendy, Helen, Nigel, Jenny, Rob, Lynne, Gordon. The lovely bar and terrace with it's fab view is a brilliant place to socialize and where we had the most amazing evening for Chris"s 50th birthday! Thank you again Kaz and Chris and wow what a brilliant evening Captain and Dounia laid on. The quality of Captain and Dounia's food was 1st class. A truly smazing holuday - can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Every room has a gorgeous view.

We returned to Villa Apollon for the 10th time this year, and yes it just gets better
This year was my husband's 50th birthday and to say the was the best birthday celebration ever was an understatement

Our darling Dounia & Captain made it the best birthday for him it could possibly have been, from the minute we woke in the morning with the usual champagne Sunday breakfast he was treated like king

We had a party in the evening for 20 , 10 friends who were already with us on holiday, and then we made friends as you always do at Villa Apollon and they came along too, thanks you guys for making it special. you know who you are b**dy hell....

Captain spit roasted a whole lamb which was the best lamb I have ever tasted in my life, we had lobster spaghetti and salads and homemade garlic bread,Dounia made him a cake , this really goes to show the measure of these amazing people and how you truly feel like a member of their family

The rooms have been upgraded this year with new wardrobes bedding and curtains, always clean and well looked after by the two ladies who help clean and with serving of meals

We went on a sailing boat the Argo 111 this year which was fabulous, and really worth it, book in the new harbour, we stopped off at some lovely coves for swimming and snorkelling, lunch and wine, drinks were served on board, you really did feel like a star for the day, rounded off by the best beef stafiado with mash cooked by Dounia at the villa in the evening

We tried some new restaurants this year, which I can highly recommend Marmita , new in town just off Papadamanti Street, meatballs are gorgeous, Paraxenos, again off Papadamanti St, set in a beautiful little courtyard, very trendy and fab food, also Final Step which is Very English but fab views and food

Of course the best food on the island is till Captains and Dounia , as everyone else has said spatchcock incredible, but try the pork chop and village sausage challenge it’s a must

We booked again for 2014 , will never tire of this amazing island and the BEST couple you could ever hope to meet.xx

Room Tip: All have fantastic views

This was by far the best place I stayed my entire summer in Greece. The island is beautiful, but my experience there was topped off by the amazing family feeling provided at Villa Apollon. Thank you!!!

A truly special place. The owners redefine customer service and make you feel like home. Unmatched and honest hospitality. Amazing view. Great location. Delicious food. Happy smiling faces around you. What else would you wish for?

My partner and I have just returned from a week's holiday at Villa Apollon. We booked these apartments after reading the reviews on tripadvisor and we were not at all disappointed. The place is a great find and we are over the moon at discovering this special place.
On our arrival we were given the warmest of welcomes by Dounia and a welcome drink of our choice. The warm hospitality continued throughout the holiday by Dounia and Captain the owners of Villa Apollon. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. We asked if we could watch the F1 Grand Prix and Captain sorted this out for us and set up the TV and a table for us to watch it. We were given beach towels for the week to use and unfortunately I managed to leave mine on the Posideon boat but Dounia assured me this was no problem and gave me a new towel for the last remaining days of the holidays. The pool area is amazing, the loungers are the best we have ever lay on, so comfortable and you are also given a towel upon each lounger for your own use. The pool is clean and the views are absolutely amazing. You cant help looking at the view constantly its so beautiful. The apartments we stayed in (number 4) consisted of a double bedroom, kitchenette and single bed sleeping area. The wardrobe space was great and there were a lot of hanging space and coat hangers. There is also a free safe and air conditioning. The veranda area was large and had the sun most of the day. This looked out across the sea and the other islands - amazing view. The apartments were cleaned daily and the maid even washed our dishes!
The food is also amazing at the apartments. Breakfast is delicious. A choice of cereals, cheese, meats, eggs, bacon and sausage. The greek yogurt with honey is delicious. On a sunday you have a special champagne cocktail and smoked salmon. You really are spoilt. You must try and the spatchcock chicken which is a dish shared for two. We managed to eat all our ours but it was a huge portion but it was just sooo delicious. If you did not manage to eat it Dounia said it could be taken away for our lunch the next day. I also ate the spaghetti and my partner had the steak (half a cow!) and yes he managed to eat it! We are now on diets!
The apartments are approx. 3.5 km from Skiathos town at Achladies Bay. There is a bus into town (bus stop number 9) and a water taxi. We preferred the water taxi as it was just so beautiful entering Skiathos on that mode of transport (2.5 euros). There are a few tavernas at Achladies Bay and the greek night at the Paradise Restaurant on Monday was great too. The resort has two supermarkets and 2 bakers. We tried the food from the first bakers as you turn right out of the apartments and the cakes were delicious.....yes I know...the diet! We also discovered a lovely restaurant named Porta Rosa just passed the bakers on the right. The food was amazing as well as the hospitality. The beef fillet is recommended.
These apartments are great and gave us such a fabulous holiday which we will never forgot. Dounia and Captain are lovely people and have great personalities. We will definitely return to Skiathos and Villa Apollon would be our first choice.

Room Tip: room 4 was a good room with amazing views

We have just returned home after spending a lovely week at the "Villa Apollon". Dounia and Captain were the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome. Every morning we would be spoilt for choice with the breakfast menu which fills you up for most of the day. The evening meal would be cooked to perfection by Captain. My absolute favourite was the Spatchcock chicken which i had to share with the hubby as the meals are hugh. The rooms were comfortable and clean and towels were provided in the rooms and by the pool. Dounia also gave us towels to take to the beach and nothing was ever too much trouble for her. This was our first time in Skiathos, we were invited by friends who come here every year and now we know why. Thank you Captain and Dounia for a fabulous week and some wonderful memories.

Villa Apollo is what we would like to expect describing the term "Greek hospitality". Located in an amazing location in Achladies, this small hotel is a secret gem! Captain and Dounia made our long stay fabulous! Thank you both for the great experience!
