So after searching for our holiday for weeks on end we found Agnadi. I'm very picky when it comes to my holidays and I insist on a room with a view and plenty of sun beds around the pool! Well we were not disappointed! We had a top floor apartment which consisted of 2 floors, the first was a well presented lounge, kitchenette and shower/wc room leading to a well sized balcony. The second floor consisted of a large double bed and another toilet. First of all we had to check out the view from the balcony!!! Beautiful view across the ocean and surrounding islands. Box number 1 a massive tick! The hotel is situated up a small but pretty steep hill which is tiring but if you have no major walking difficulties is not an issue especially after a few walks up you get used to it. Upon arrival we were greeted by Andreas (hotel manager) and his wife who insists upon greeting everybody with a free drink! :). So as we arrived quite late we headed straight for the room to relax. The next morning we woke early to get a bed around the pool. No need! We were at the pool by 8am expecting the usual sun bed wars with vacant beds covered in towels! But this was not the case! Plenty of beds with not a towel in sight! Every day was pretty much the same and in our 2 week stay we always got our beds even after having a few more hours in bed and strolling down at 10am. The view from the pool area was also beautiful! The pool itself is a good size and has a small section for the kiddies. Box 2 another massive tick !!! :) The pool bar is also really good! The full English breakfast is brilliant! The pool bar menu is basic but has all the things you'd expect, burgers, pizza toasties, salads etc etc. They will also cook different things not on the menu if they have it no problem at all. Sunday night is BBQ night at the hotel which I promise is WELL worth the 15 euro price tag! We honestly could not fault Andreas and his wife, they are brilliant and I take my hat off to them for doing such a good job! On one Occasion I ran out of cigarettes (disgusting habit I know) and for some reason you can only buy cigarettes from the main town. So with that Andreas popped into town in his car and got me some smokes. :) At this point I may add that Andreas also owns a restaurant down the road called Porta Rossa where he spends his evenings working his socks off. The Food is truly amazing!!!!! We ate there 5 times during our stay so please give it a go! Back to the hotel, there are two beaches within close distance of the hotel down the hill that are a 5 minute walk. Again quite steep but worth it! Andreas will gladly call u a taxi into skiathos town which is a 5 min drive and is 8 euros. The rooms are cleaned daily to a very good standard and towels changed regularly. When reading reviews on the hotel we noticed that some reviews mentioned a lot of German holiday makers staying at the hotel, I have nothing against Germans but later found out that the hotel used to be ran by a German tour operator which is no longer the case and everyone we met was indeed British. So would we return to skiathos and the Agnadi hotel? Definately!!!!

Room Tip: Get a high room for the view!

We were returning to Skiathos for the second time and unfortunately, the hotel I wanted wasn't available for the dates we wanted, so the Agnadi was the alternative. Like, it seems, most hotels in Greece, it was up a fairly steep hill, but manageable and close to bus stop 9.
Andreas made us feel very welcome upon arrival and we had a top floor room with stunning sea views and a mezzanine bedroom. He then broke the news to us that the aircon wasn't working! He said it would be fixed later that day (which it wasn't) so we spent our first night in unbearable heat. The staff did lend us a fan, but of course, wasn't the same. Luckily, the aircon was fixed the next day and we spent the rest of the week feeling much cooler in the room. I would absolutely recommend paying the 40 Euros needed for the aircon though.
The room itself was large and well equipped and was cleaned well each day. The kitchenette was basic but meant we could make our own breakfast each day. We didn't have dinner in the hotel, but lunch was really good.
The pool area had quite a few sunbeds, but not quite enough parasols. Again, there were amazing views across to Skopelos from the pool area. I felt the pool was slightly on the small side and felt a little cramped when lots of people descended to it. It was not always a haven of peace and tranquility either, so if you are looking for this, I would recommend visiting outside of school holidays.
All staff were friendly and very helpful. This was probably it's real strength, along with those views. Overall, we had a good week and I would recommend it to others.

What a warm welcome we recieved from Andreas and his team. A Fabulous setting looking over the bay towards Skiathos town.Tthree floors of studios and apartments on three floor's, you need to request second or third floor for a sea view, first floor over look's the pool and garden. Lovely pool with poolside bar. We did stay in for the weekly BBQ on Sunday evening which was nice but food average! The special on Wednesday night (quiz night) was delicious, greek meatballs cooked by Andreas's with who is a cheif at one of the best restaurants in Skisthos town.
Our studio was basic but, very clean. The bed and pillow's were very comfy for Greek standard's! There is air con at en extra Eu 40 per week. The only down side was lack of hot water at peek tea time! they are working on this. Ladies take your hair dryer as there aren't any!
Due to the elevated position it is a steep walk up from bus stop number 9 but just a 5 min taxi ride from town.
We will definately stay here again

Room Tip: Wi Fi limited in the bar. Book a second or third floor room if you would like a sea view

Agnadi is perched up on a steep hill but i was familiar with the area so this wasnt a problem;overall the hotel is good ;the staff are so friendly and accomodating;my only reservation is noise through the floors by people dragging furniture around early morning and nights;sounded like we had family of elephants above us ;however this isnt just unique to Adnadi with bare floors;i.e no carpet etc is typical of this type of traditional accomodation.Resort of Achladies and Skiathos were again brilliant

Now back a week and really missing it! Fabulous place, the Island and Agnadi hotel. Andreas, Blerta and Becky were stars as were all the new friends we have made. The hotel is small and it really is friendly; we haven't been to such a friendly hotel. Views are magnificent, once you climb the hill!! Bar food simple, tasty and lovely eating it out on the terrace looking across the sea to the small islands. Pool area lovely and the pictures are exactly as it is. If you are up for quad biking would definitely recommend it; lots of tracks on the Island and small enough to get around it. Would definitely return to sing one more rendition of "winner takes it all"!

Room Tip: Best views on the 3rd floor - 2 bedded rooms (well mezanine). The studios are on the 1st and 2nd floors.
