The Filokalia is lovely place to stay.Set on the hillside above Achladies it's surrounded by countryside. If you want a peaceful, restful holiday and are not looking for an all action full on vacation then this could be the place to come.It comprises on a small number of studios and a few 1 bedroom apartments. There is a nice pool area with ample sunbeds and during the day you will be well catered for by Shellina who is always on hand. The bar is open all day and into the night with a good selection snacks available. the studios are typically greek basic but very clean with towels and sheets being changed every other day. Met some nice folk there and will no doubt return in the future for a third time. So a big thank you to the owner Alkis and all his team who made it a memorable holiday for us. Kevin & Janet

Room Tip: High rooms have good views but steep climb makes it unsuitable for anyone with walking difficulties.

We stayed at Filokalia for the last 2 weeks in September and the staff , especially Shelina , and the other guests made it a memorable holiday . Everybody was friendly , most had stopped there previously ,and gave us lots of ideas of places to visit and resteraunts to eat at .
The rooms were spacious and clean ,equipped with a 2 ring cooker and grill, fridge and electric kettle .
There were always sun beds available at poolside and Shelina was always on hand to help with anything .What a gem she is .
We met the owner on several occasions and he seemed a nice guy too .
We will return , if not next year then the year after .

Room Tip: The hotel is on a slope so the rooms higher up will be hard for people who are not very mobile .

Here at FiloKalia you are sure of a very warm welcome from the small but super efficient team.
You will be looked after from day one and nothing is to much trouble.
Great food (Especially Breakfasts) at very good prices.
Rooms are small but everything is clean and well maintained. Just a short walk to the bus stop which is easy to navigate and always on time.
Great week and thanks to all

Room Tip: Rooms 19-21 are up quite a steep hill but away from noise etc and have great views

My wife and I are just back from a 2 week holiday staying at the Filokalia. We were immediately made to feel at home by the lovely Shelina and her colleagues. We had a nice 1 bedroom apartment overlooking the pool which was more than adequate for our needs
The Filokalia is an Aprtment&Studio complex surrounded by beautifully kept gardens with a swimming pool and a bar which serves drinks and food. The main road(5mins walk) where you can catch the local bus to various parts of Skiathos runs frequently but is often overfull. The alternative to get to town is the water taxi from Achilades beach. The beach being around 10 to 15 min walk from the Complex.
The Filokalia seems to invite you to get to know other guests and we got to know some fabulous people and enjoyed their company immensely.
Again I cannot emphasise the wonderful staff at the Filokalia and the great friends we made on our holiday. We will certainly be back
