It's a great way to show your kids the animal world. The zoo doesn't really look like a common zoo, it's more a natural park..in the Odense beautiful forest... gold star for the kids playground and for the nice areas where you could stop for a meal.

I like the fact that there are 2 playground areas for the kids to play.
Lots of different types of animals to see.
Area where kids can pet goats.
There are two places you can walk among the animals - small apes and small kangaroo type animals.
Places to buy food or eat food and drinks you brought yourself.
You can rent a wagon to pull the kids in.
We enjoy going to the zoo in odense.

Me and my family visited Odense zoo in December and even thought it was winter and raining we had a great experience. Seeing the lions and the girafs were amazing. The penguins were also great to look at.The dolphin show was very entertaining. It was a an awesome experience for both adults and kids.

This ZOO has really good ratings, but we were a bit disappointed. First of all - not enough animals, no hippos, no rhinos, no elephants, bears, snakes etc. We visited a lot zoos in Europe and this is definitely not one of the best (comparing to Prague, Basel, Budapest for example). The second reason - big advertising on giraffe feeding... It was sold out, and once I saw that only about 10 people were feeding them at all, I was shocked. Third thing is toilets - not enough for number of visitors and mother enough clean.
What is perfect - seating places all over the zoo, no problem to find a place and take a rest or eat something with tired children. Also there are a lot of places for children activities, like playgrounds, river boats etc.

Compact small zoo, best part was that you could get close to the giraffe, also had lions, tigers, lots of interesting fish, due to it being the winter we could only see the zebras, emu from a far, park area for the children, cafe open for hot drinks and snacks, will be back in the summer to see what difference there is. Enjoyable day out.
