We visited Aalborg (a nice and lively town) to visit the site of my friend's uncle's crash in the Limfjord on August 13, 1940 in World War II after being shot down (See Youtube). We stayed in the Hotel Chagall for 3 nights in late June 2013.
The recently updated hotel was a jewel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Its location is quite central in Aalborg, and within walking distance of the station.
We would definitely stay there again.
We got directions from the Hotel staff and visited the Military & Garrison museum (well worth a visit) to pursue enquiries re the crash. Again the museum people were most helpful.
