We spent a fabulous weekend at sonderho kro. The rooms are beautiful. So cute. Thatched roof and shabby chic furnishings. Top quality. The location is as remote as is possible. Beautiful wide beaches and not much else. We had two fabulous meals in the evenings and gorgeous breakfasts in the mornings. The staff were friendly and helpful. Altogether a lovely experience.

This is simply a gem - we have stayed there twice and have had two very special occasions. Is is uniquely located on a small Island of the coast of Jutland in an old house in a small village close to the North Sea. The rooms are magnificent and all different and the food is simply amazing. It is NOT expensive but very reasonably priced given the quality of the accommodation and the food.
We go there to get some time away from big city life. It is an ideal location for a romantic weekend with your spouse. We recommend it very much and will go there again.

Stayed here for two nights together with my wife. The atmosphere of the Inn and the city of Sønderho is amazing.
The rooms are old fashioned, but is in line with the place and there is very cozy. Breakfast was great, and dinner OK (dinner is not the best value for money). Would love to come back!
We rented some bikes nearby and biked around the island - can only recommend others to do the same :o)

Well was most disappointed with this KRO we only went for a meal. The cost was too much for the tiny portions of mediocre food served. As a regular visitor I would not use again better value in Norby for the pizzas > this was suppode to be a very special meal for us but we were very disappointed sorry guys

My wife, myself and my kid stayed for 8 nights at Sønderho Kro. It is by fahr one of the best experiences I have had for a long time. Both the food and the hospitality is beyond anything I have experienced. You can find more up market places to stay in Denmark like Falsled Kro which is really great, but Sønderho just feels more original and more relaxed. The location beats any place in Denmark or northern Germany. It is placed in a small sailor's town at the most southern tip of the Island of Fanø. Perfectly situated for short walks or day trips exploring the ocean and nature. We went on a guided walk on the beach at low tide, where we walked about 1 kilometer "into" the ocean and saw seals only meters away from us.
But you dont have to do hikes! Just go to one of the benches situated at the plot of Sønderho Kro and you have a breathtaking view of the North Sea while enjoying a hot cop of cofee.
The chef at Sønderho Kro managed to vary the menu every single day and all food is made of homegrown and local products. Even the jam for breakfast is home made. Our child who is only three years old was served a gourmet dish and desert every night, and even though kids are rare at Sønderho Kro, there is room for everybody - even a small one.
The wine card and the wine menu is extensive and good value.
So - please take your loved one, your wife, your grand mother or your mother in law to Sønderho Kro, and they will remember it forever.

We arrived here directly off the boat from Harwich to Esjberg and via the small island ferry.

The Inn [Kro] is very old and charming and the bedrooms are in a number of small accommodation blocks and cottages.

Our room was sizeable with an adequate bathroom, but a little dark and somewhat dated.

However, the food and service were superb, with excellent fish and first class wines. We stayed for three nights and were joined by wife's sister & husband for one night.

The island is very beautiful and with fine beaches. There are a number of interesting shops within walking distance of the Inn.

If departing on a Saturday, you need to leave either very early or else late, as the ferry gets very busy with masses of German caravans etc leaving on the small car ferry back to Esjberg.

I was simply so happy with this hotel, and must agree with my friend in the review above in saying that it is somehow hard to describe. A wonderful quiet time, with delicious food and great service. In a beautiful part of the world.
