Need a break from herring or multiple-course modern Nordic meals? Need something simple and comforting? Come to Christianshavn and grab a pizza. The pies here are made to order. The crust is thin with the right chewiness. There is a wide selection of toppings; some are atypical like tiny shrimps (the kind you get on open-faced sandwiches) or tuna. The price is reasonable, especially for Copenhagen where food is not cheap. The place gets busy around dinner time as many locals come to get take out, but the line moves. Just be patient. The guys behind the counter don't say much, so don't expect any friendly chat. There are a few tables to sit, but the space is tight, and the crowd will be hovering over you waiting for their takeout. I would recommend taking your pizza to one of the benches by the canal a block away and watch people, boats and swans go by while you savor your pie.

This is so far my favorite take-away pizza place in Copenhagen. The pizza are really very good - and they have some less ordinary toppings which makes a nice change. Tino's does have a few things going against them though:

1) They don't take credit cards
2) The service is not always very good - maybe it's just the Italian style or humor that doesn't translate well.
3) Sometimes the pizzas are extremely oily

If you're in the neighborhood (Christianshavn) I can recommend this place, but don't travel across town for it.

The three of us were wandering around Christianshavn looking for a bite for dinner (not too hungry, being jetlagged). Came across this pizza take-out place that seems very popular with the locals. The people were friendly and we ordered 2 pizzas (1 ham and 1 some cured meat I cannot pronounced) and watched them make it. Watched other people get their pizza and got the idea of asking for arugula and parmesian on top (after it was baked). The guy said oh you want the "speciale". Total just 127 DKK, about 21 USD, for 2 pizzas enough for 3, which is about as cheap as you can get in Copenhagen except for hot dogs.
By the way, cheapest hot dogs (they called it Fransk) would be from supermarkets - 2 for 30 DKK in Bilik in the Fields mall in Orestaden. In Tivoli it was 27 DKK each, Can't remember what it was from the street carts, because we had sausages instead - DKK 80 a spicy sausage and 2 pork sausages (which by the way was 35 DKK each in Tivoli). Sorry for the detour but we rather like the European hot dogs that sticks out one end of the bun (the bread is not sliced lengthwise but just had one end cut off and the hot dog pushed into it) - the bread and the ketchup (or mayo) are much tastier than those in the US.
Back to the pizzas - sat in front of the canal and enjoyed the pizzas, which were tasty. Fed the crust to the seagulls - free entertainment (no Danes complained so I hope it was OK to do so). Metro stop is nearby (1 block) so all in all a convenient, cheap and tasty option.
