“Perfect Danish lunch”
Reviewed 17 February 2014 via mobile

Was recomended by a friend of us to have a meal at this restaurant. After walking the city we got a warm a welcome by a friendly staff and had a table after just a very short time.
As I am very found of typical Danish cousine and their "smørrebrød" with a bayer, the menu was right up my alley.
We went for a Copenhagerplatte and with warm livetpatee in addition. The platte had just what I needed for lunch, with both marinated herring, flæskesteg and panned fish, plus some more - this lunch was just perfect.

Excellent lunch for two, payed just over DNK 400 with 2 large bayers and 2 bottles of water. Coming back for more:)

“Wonderful atmosphere with good food”
Reviewed 21 September 2013

We were tired and hungry after a long day in Copenhagen and were happy to find this excellent restaurant just a short distance from the Stroget. Delicious, traditional Danish food served in a wonderful atmosphere. The only shortfall was our waitress, who was competent but not particularly friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience.

“Avoid if you are British/want good value”
Reviewed 22 May 2013

The food was delicious, no complaints there. Decent portion sizes for the price when you consider this restaurant is in downtown Copenhagen. The staff, however, were incredibly rude to us at every stage of service - unwilling to answer completely reasonable questions about the menu, insulting us when we asked for a jug of water with our meal (they only serve individual bottles of mineral water unless you order wine as well), saying scathingly: 'This is an expensive country.' They ignored us for a long time after bringing our meal, and since we were sitting in a sort of alcove section they had no need to come into our area and interact with us. In the end one of us had to actually go into the other rooms of the restaurant to ask for our bill at the bar, which was also met with a dirty look. Is it any surprise we didn't want to stay longer and spend more money with such awful service?

“Worst Flaeskesteg Ever!”
Reviewed 27 October 2012

I brought my friend here to try my favorite traditional danish meal, Flaeskesteg, for the first time. My usual place, Cafe Lindevang, was booked for the weekend, so we thought we'd give this place a shot. It was the worst flaeskesteg dinner i have ever had! The sugar potatoes were burnt, the red cabbage was bland and quite possibly old, and the flaeskesteg was so dry and tasted like it had sat under a heat lamp for days. Plus the crackling was far from fresh, resembling what you can purchase in bags at the grocery store. Very disappointed and the staff didn't even inquire about the quality of the meal. Not to mention the prices were outrageous compared to Cafe Lindevang, while portion sizes were drastically smaller.

Warning to all tourists! This is not the place to try Danish cuisine for the first time! Maybe that is why so many tourists go to Mcdonalds...

“Danish at it´s best”
Reviewed 10 May 2012

We had both lunch and dinner at this very danish restaurant. At lunch we had "smörrebröd", which we made ourselves from a tray full of different things such as herring, salmon etc. Very delicious. Another day we had dinner, likewise excellent. The calfsliver was top notch !
Staff very becoming.
This is a restaurant you should visit if you like real danish traditional food.
