“Couple of days at the "budget hotel"”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2013

Thought, I would check out this hotel, based on the reviews, due to a social event I am attending in Copenhagen. As many readers have Cop and the hotels are very expensive. Paid 88 euros for double room solo occupancy, no breakfast. Not worth it at all in my opinion!! Moved on to Clarion Hotel Mayfair,(with drama, confirmed had paid for booking, only to be informed they had not charged my credit card and had to pay again, will check statements when return in London)

Dir - from airport take Line 2 to central station (15 mins) 36 krones (Taxi about 200 krones) turn right at station Kobenhavn 3 or 4 stops- walk down on right about 15mins)

Anyway, Wakeup Cop' rooms very small, nearby train station so noisy at night and mornings (luckily had ear plugs, kept dropping off) Nice walk in shower and good reception space and internet pc 6. They charge for print outs and luggage storage (20 Krones)

Hotel a bit far off for my liking and not my cup of tea. But its cheap compared to other hotels in Cop' and the curtains are too short - A lot of light comes in and is not blocked out.

Scored poor, due to price, room and extra costs

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the railway, it will be noisy and lots of light coming in due to short cur...

I had booked a room to say here for a few days to sight-see in Copenhagen after a business trip in another part of Denmark. After having to cancel my entire trip, both business and pleasure, due to a death in my family, I was told my money would not be refunded due to pre-paying at a "non-refundable rate". Having a fiance in the hotel industry, I know it can be refunded and was very disappointed that the staff was unwilling to work with me at all!! For an extreme case as this that was completely out of my hands and coming all the way from the U.S., I can't believe how cold I was treated - no customer service at all and needless to say, I won't be staying here for any future trips!! Be careful when you book so this doesn't happen to you as the staff won't have any sympathy or be the least bit friendly or helpful.

Dear Madame,
I personally remember having had a lot of e-mail correspondence with you, as well as a few others of my colleagues. As mentioned in these previous e-mails, we are of cause very sorry for your lost.
As you state yourself you have booked our economy reservation and accepted the terms and conditions.
This reservation is non refundable and non changeable and this is the reason why we where unable to cancel your reservation.
For future guests we can only advise to book the flexible rate if you want this option and this is not only here at Wakeup, but with every special offer.
Kind regards,
Team Wakeup

Great value. I always stay here when in Copenhagen. Pass on the breakfast option, very expensive for what you get...cereal, thin mean...not worth the price. There are plenty of place within walking distance that offer a better value and variety for breakfast.

For as far as a hotel is concerned, you get what you pay for...it is basic but clean (although over the years is does seen to need some repairs, the upkeep of the overall hotel seems to be waining). Be sure to stock up on food if you are going to just stay at the hotel...peanuts and chips chased down with a iced tea is about as exotic as you can get for dinner at the hotel. But over all a very good value.

Room Tip: The cheaper rooms are just as good as the more expensive ones...you just don't get the view...bu...

I had to make a emergency flyover to cooenhagen with short notice(same day) to visit a client.

The Company traveldesk booked The hotel.

I have never stayed in a "budget" hotel before so I had my doubts...

I was surprised and welcomed to a modern Lobby with a smooth check-in with a very happy and friendly staff.

I got room 1112 on The 11:th floor.

The room was indeed small but with a modern touch.

All neat, tidy and very clean.

Bed was really good and comfy.

Bathroom and shower was very small but again clean.

Breakfast was very simple.

Very serviceminded and friendly staff raised The overall experiance of The hotel.

Well spent money!

book online on their own website and save money! right in the middle of Copenhagen. 10 minutes walk to Tivoli Gardens. Small rooms, but for the price its really good value. good breakfast. Choose this if you dont care about room-size. Everything is so clean and staff is nice. In the basement theres lots of lockers for your suitcases/bags. costs only twenty kroner.

It´s VERY close to the Tivoli congress center, and actually the reason we chose it. Tidy rooms, modern look, small but fully equipped. The rooms i visited all had a quite nice view. Parking is pricy but near by

Room Tip: Go for the rooms with a great view of the city rooftops

This is a new cabin hotel located in a grey business area close to the railway tracks.

It is about 10 min on foot away from the Grand Central Railway station and Tivoli, and about 15 min to the central shopping street and a fair number of turist attractions or museums.

Being a cabin hotel the rooms are small (14-15 square meters) and consists of a bed, small desk, chair, tv, wireless net and tube shower/bathroom. It is a place you come to sleep and shower.

It is kept in a style that will likely remind you of a hospital room (white and impersonal).

The breakfast resturant is very, very simple and basic cereals and factory made bread is about it.

It is clean and generally works. Booking is best over the net as other ways adds fees.

Stayed 20+ separate days on business during 2013.
The attraction is the price (low) and that it is kept clean. This works for short stays and if you dont have children along (consider a second room if you do).

Parking is in a parking house, which is shared with the Tivoli hotel and is, as everything else in Copenhagen, expensive (140kr/day).
