“Bad experience”
Reviewed 16 October 2013

We went to a 4 day trip to Copenhagen and booked a simple hotel, for we knew, that we won't be spending much time in the hotel anyway. We thought, it would be something like the Motel1 chain in germany, but it wasn't. The rooms were very small and to make it worse, the bathroom was basically in the room, just seperated by a thin milky glass door, that wouldn't even lock. We - like a lot of other hotel guests, as we noticed - prefered to go to the toilett on the second floor, because anyone in the room was able to hear anything, that goes on in the bathroom. Because of that, the rooms aren't at all made for 2 peoples!

But apart from that, it was the fact that the hotel was lacking hospitality, that made the stay even worse. I tend to sleep with more than one cushion, so when I asked at the check-inn, if I could have another cushion, they said NO, because they only just had one cushion for each hotel guest - that NEVER happened to me ANYWHERE in the world.

We also booked the breakfast, which in hindsight we shouldn't have, because it was very, very poor. Besides from a very hard egg no warm choices, hardly any fresh fruit and not even honey.

I gave two points for the location and the free wireless internet, but I would deffenetly never go to this hotel again.

We stayed at Wakeup this past weekend and found the place good enough to return one day. The rooms and hotel lobby were very clean and very modern. The rooms do not have a phone nor any closet space to store anything. The beds only have one pillow, unless you ask for an extra one and a fairly small comforter. That being said, this is pretty typical of most Scandinavian countries I have been too so far. The price is great and the location, only a 10 minute walk to the Central Station. There is nothing (shopping, restaurants, etc.) within a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

The staff is what made me give this hotel a Very Good Review as they went above and beyond with directions to specific attractions as well as restaurant suggestions that paned out to be awesome! I want to give two thumbs way up to Kristian, one of the front desk employee for his friendliness and for going above and beyond for our stay there.

Definitely worth staying there especially if you are on a budget and not looking for something that will make you go WOW!!!

Ok a little bit of an extra walk to the city but. ... rooms are clean and modern. Person 2 has to climb over person 1 to go to the bathroom during the night, not a lot of privacy when in shower if your just "friends". Wifi very strong and fast. All up value for money!

Nice located hotel, clean and i think very comfortable for a few days trip in Copenhagen. You can have easy access on foot both in the city center (Tivoli etc) and the seaside for a walk, as well. Neveertheless, next time (if it will be) I'll choose a bicycle outside th hotel.

the room I stayed is rather small, but is perfect for singles travelling for business (not sure if they have bigger rooms for couples or families, but if not, this will be a put off). The furnishings are modern, and the rooms are very clean (perhaps because the hotel is relatively new). Glass shower stall is also very small and compact, and you cannot maneuver around much inside.

location wise, it is near enough to walk about 10 mins to central station where the train system connects you everywhere else. From there it is also very near to walk to the Stroget. The hotel is near to the waterfront, where there is a shopping mall, and also the Harbour bath. I did a couple of jogs up and down the waterfront which were really enjoyable despite the chilly weather.

Breakfast in the hotel was not great though, day after day, there were only bread, ham, cheese and hard boiled eggs. i gave up after 2 days, and would rather skip breakfast for a better lunch later on. (there aren't any other food options nearby as they are mainly offices, and the nearby mall does not open so early).

We went here for a weekend in mid-August, where prices seemed quite high compared to a very simple concept: small, practical rooms, central location, simple breakfast at reasonable price. This is all okay, but the elevator capacity is ridiculously low (as a standrad we waited at least 5-10 minutes each time), and the luggage storage capacity was minimal.

A great place to stay if you are on a budget but not looking for the hostel scene. Hotel is clean and modern. Rooms are certainly on the small side, but do not feel cramped. Rooms have private bathroom and shower (fyi...they are somewhat see-thru in case you are modest), TV, folding table/desk and chairs. Staff is friendly and helpful.

It is not in center city - but in a 10-15 minute walk you can be in the center, tivoli gardens, etc. You will need to walk to restaurants and such - nothing right around the hotel. Hotel also rents bikes - an even easier way to get around the city!

Only suggestion is it would be nice if they had a coffee pot or water heater to make coffee/tea in your room.

I loved it - slept great - clean, quiet, secure. I've already booked my next stay!
