“Ultra modern”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 December 2011

We stayed here on honeymoon in early Decemeber 2011. There is a free shuttle bus from the airport which is less than 10 minutes away. The shuttle was difficult to find which was very frustrating.

The hotel itself is very modern and prides itself on being among the greenest in the world. At first I thought the exterior looked very dull and drab until I realised it was covered in solar panels. The receptionist gave us a free upgrade to a suite on the 23rd floor because we were newlyweds!

The room was very comfortable and clean. The furnishings were typically Scandanavian - clean lines and a somewhat minimalist. The room was cleaned daily and we were greeted with complementary fruit and nuts everyday. The only gripe I had with the room was that our large double bed had 2 single quilts rather than one double quilt. There were a number of TV channels on offer (about 5 of them in English) which were fine.

We only ate breakfast in the hotel. There was a lot on offer - various breads, cereals, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausages and pancakes. The staff were always very friendly and accomodating. They were quick to offer advice on where to go and where to eat. A tip - buy metro and train tickets in the hotel. They are half the price.

The is located in the Orestad district which is a new development of hotels, offices, shops and schools. The architecture on display is modern and intriguing. The entire area is served by a train and metro system. The metro gets you to the city centre in about 8 minutes and runs 24 hours.

I stayed in this hotel a year ago which is why I booked it again. Although it's not in the best location in Copenhagen (5 minute cab ride from airport, 10 minute metro ride to city centre) it is a great hotel and the best Crowne Plaza I've stayed in.

Check-in was swift with helpful staff on the front desk. I booked a room rate which included a metro ticket and breakfast.

The last time I stayed in the hotel (December 2010) it felt quite empty, it did again this time. I asked the front desk if they were busy and to my surprise they said they were nearly full. I think the reason it didn't feel too full is that it's quite a large hotel with lots of space in the lobby and everything runs so efficiently (from the lifts to check-in to clearing up when people leave at breakfast).

I was in room 1404 so on the 14th floor. Last time I stayed I was on a lower floor so if you can ask for an upper floor I would recommend it as you get a good view. My room was modern and perfectly clean. Everything in the room was in prestine condition. I used the ironing board and iron which worked well.

I slept very well and the room was well isolated in terms of noise - I didn't hear anything from the neighbours even though the rooms next to me were occupied.

The buffet breakfast in the morning was really excellent with a large choice of food and fresh organic fruit juices available.

Next time I go to Copenhagen I'll stay in this hotel again.  If the location of this hotel suits you and you want an outstanding room I'd definitely recommend this hotel!

Pros:
- sustainable, environmentally friendly
- large, clean rooms
- comfortable beds and pillows
- close to train & metro
- next to huge shopping mall
- free shuttle to & from the airport (if your flight arrives before 10:30pm)

Cons:
- location (10-15 min train to center)
- slow front desk service (too few people working there to cover the volume most times)

The hotel is located 10 minutes drive from the airport, but it's quiet enough and the free shuttle bus made getting there easy. It is a couple of minutes walk to the metro - which takes 15 minutes to get to the city centre (but the trains do come every few minutes even in the middle of the night - so there isn't much waiting).

Unfortunately on our arrival there was a problem with the reservation which the desk staff could have been more helpful in sorting out. It was resolved by our travel agent and the hotel did offer some complimentary drinks to compensate for the inconvenience caused.

We had a nice, large, room with very comfortable bed. The shower managed to flood the bathroom each time we used it - due to it's design. They offer a DKK 75 voucher if you forego room cleaning for one day as an environmental benefit - a nice touch which will buy a couple of coffee's in the bar.

Overall a fairly typical modern business style hotel. The breakfast buffet was nice - but get your Danish pastries in early if they are busy!

Room Tip: Go for a room at the top - will give you a good view

Ok, I'm a little delayed in reviewing this hotel I actually stayed there in May of 2011. During our stay, a boxing event was held nearby and Evander Holyfield and others were staying at the hotel. I wasn't sure who won the fight until I saw Evander at breakfast in the morning - not a scratch. Then the other guy showed up, his face made it evident that Evander didn't let up!

The hotel is located adjacent to the Orestad station which provides same-line access to Kongens Nytorv Station(central Copenhagen-about 6 stops) on the easy to use and clean Metro system and access to the airport via the Orested train station(about 15-20 minute ride). In addition, the Fields mall is across the street from the hotel with three levels of shops and restaurants.

As for the hotel, the front desk staff is excellent! Friendly and efficient. The concierge sells tickets for the hop-hop off bus, as well as other tourist attractions and services in Copenhagen. The rooms were furnished with modern chairs and desks. The bathrooms appeared to have been recently renovated(or were well-maintained!) The pubic areas were nice and the hotel serves a good amount of convention and business clientele. The hotel's breakfast was top notch and well worth the price.

Room Tip: If you haven't traveled in Denmark before, be cognizant that the Danes like to use the Sun to pr...

From check in to check out the staff did everything they could to make me feel at home. Even parked my car every day and had it ready in the morning.

Location good - just 5 min walk to fields and metro... City center just 15 min away.

The room is clean and nice size, scandinavian style.
