Having never visited Copenhagen before, it was great to be collected at the airport by the hotel's courtesy bus and then driven a short distance to the hotel, which is conveniently located for our offices. It is in an area that appears to be under development currently and probably more suited to business rather than leisure travellers.

The family spent 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers in August and we had a great experience. Hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes drive from the airport so it suited our short stopover. The kids' picked the hotel because they had read about the World's Greenest hotel in a magazine. One of the towers has solar panels on all 4 sides. We got a room on the 24th floor and had spectacular views of the city as well as the Oresund bridge to Sweden - great pic opportunity.
+ If you happen to be a IHG Platinum card holder, then you have access to the lounge which is always a plus.
+ The gym in the hotel was small but sufficient. If you wanted a bigger gym, then the hotel would provide you with a pass to a nearby fitness centre
+ The hotel provided a free shuttle service to the airport and back every 20 minutes
+ Denmark's biggest shopping mall (I think!) is located about 300 metres from the hotel
+ The metro was across the street. As well as the train station, so we took a train to Malmö, Sweden.
+ The hotel offers you a 75DKK voucher for each night you choose not to get your room done up. Innovative idea and adds to the Green experience!

11 of us were just on a family trip to Denmark and for 3 days we stayed at the Crowne Plaza Towers. Location is very handy to trains and metro, and the free shuttle to the airport is very convenient and runs frequently. As we had a family of five, a family of four and one couple the Crowne Plaza is one of the few hotels in Copenhagen that can accommodate everyone and the rooms were great. As an aside to the hotel, the setup for the showers is a little curious, because however careful you are, water gets on the floor of the bathroom - which by the way is very nice.
There is free wifi all over and it is very efficient. The staff at this hotel is exceptional, so helpful, polite, efficient and kind - everyone in reception is great, the concierge fabulous and the staff at restaurant Storm amazing, especially Khurram and Bethany, but all were great. Good breakfast every day. Will definitely stay there again when we need a hotel in Copenhagen.

Room Tip: we had rooms on floors 11, 15 and 19 - all were great but higher rooms had a better view

We stayed here just for one night, checking in at 11 pm. There is a construction site next to the hotel. It is a 5 minute walk from Ørestad station, but the entrance is on the wrong side, so you have to walk round the hotel, which makes you walk for a further few minutes. We had a deluxe room for two. The hotel charges additional fees for each extra adult, starting from the second adult. To our surprise there was one of everything in the room. They failed to correct the mistake in full when we called the concierge, yet still a couple of towels and a cup arrived by midnight, however there were still missing items that we would have had appreciated. The excuse given was 'Oh, this is because you have been allocated to a room on the crew floor'. But we are not crew. The view from the 19th floor was not spectacular: the metro depot and fields. Cannot say the room was particularly clean... The breakfast was OK though. Probably a good hotel for crew, but won't stay here again.

We stayed one night at the Copenhagen Towers after a driving trip from Norway. This was an IHG points stay.

Overall, we had no complaints. The hotel is lovely - modern decor, and well situated - close to both the train and the airport as well as a number of corporations (Bombadier, for example) and shopping. The room was spacious - incredibly so by European standards, and small touches like a towel warmer, large closets and well appointed coffee/tea service were extremely nice.

Pros:

The location is ideal if you're not wanting to deal with the Copenhagen proper - right off the motorway and near the train/Metro station. It's also close to the airport though without the noise. Copenhagen is a short train trip away.

The staff - very helpful in getting us into Copenhagen with train tickets, and letting us know the sites to see.

The breakfast - a wide variety of food that we found very tasty. Our room price included breakfast.

Free and fast Internet - which we found at all our destinations in Europe.

The room - bright, clean and comfortable with large closets and providing all the expected amenities. The decor was modern and furnishings tasteful. Sound was kept to an absolute minimum.

The hotel's environmental stance. Carbon neutral while adopting socially responsible policies.

The cons:

This is a construction zone and will be until 2015. That may put a few folks off.

When we parked, getting to the hotel lobby was a bit of a chore. The entrance to the lobby from the parking garage wasn't well marked. We navigated through multiple doors until an elevator, then another door which ended up amongst a group of sitting tables in the lobby. With luggage, a bit of a pain.

Parking payments are made at an automated machine. While English was offered, when it came to the payment option menus, the machine reverted to Danish. Not sure if this is something with the hotel or with the property owner as the location is also business space.

At any given time, we saw only one or two people at the front desk. We spent about 15 minutes waiting to check in as a single clerk was the only person available to help multiple guests (and all with questions).

Metro Station train navigation was extremely confusing and this was, obviously, not the fault of the hotel. The hotel provided us with two tickets, information on what Metro to take to/from (M1 towards Vanlose getting off at Kongens Nytorv) and directions to the station. What we weren't told was to get off at DR Byen and then wait for a second Metro M1 train to take us into Copenhagen. Metro staff finally straightened us out. It's unknown if this train switch is always like this or due to construction. Once we got the stations figured out, the ride into the city was lovely. The local architecture on the Metro line is amazing.

Bottom line:

For business travel or airport access, you cannot compete with this hotel. When the construction is over, this hotel will be even better. Clean, comfortable and located nicely out of the big city.

But if you're looking for the tourist experience, you may wish to look closer in the heart of the city.

This is the second of two reviews of properties that I have not stayed at, but with which I have had very positive dealings. I had booked two nights at this property at the prepaid (non-refundable) rate, but later had to cancel, because of a medical emergency. Customer Service at the international hotel group Priority Club contacted the hotel, and enquired about an exception to the rule of not refunding us the cost of the room. I was told that this might be possible, but that I had to speak to a Reservations Manager. This I did, and Linda made an exception in our case. The morals of this story are: Join a hotel chain's loyalty program. Establish a record as a loyal guest. Use this record to see if any exceptions to a hotel's rules can be made in an emergency situation. Thank you, Crowne Plaza, Copenhagen!

We checked in with two kids for a one night stay. Got told two different rooms upon check in and rooms very small. Had to ask three times for cot to be brought up. Expensive - room service 50dkk. Got a price of plastic in our food and no rebate. Told paid for when we checked in and once checking on discussions were again raised upon payment. Think they had something wrong with their system. Sure lots of kids traveling through here. Maybe consider more kids movies or even a playroom. Helpful staff. Ok area for one night.
