“good for a night stay”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

We spent one night at Cabinn Metro, checked in at 11 pm and checked out at 10 am. The hotel is close to the airport, short walk from the metro stop. The room was small and had bunk beds but it did not matter as it was just an overnight trip. The bathroom is very tiny but manageable. Would definitely recommend for a short stay in expensive Copenhagen.

You get exactly what you expect at the Cabinn Metro - Handy for the airport and down (15 minutes in either direction. Its slap bang next to the biggest department store in Scandinavia which can be handy.

5 minutes walk to a train and Metro stop in one direction and about 10 minutes in the other get you to the conference centre.

The accommodation itself is clean and basic. Two single beds pushed together make up the bed. A wetroom style bathroom dominates the room in the middle and there is a small flatscreen TV and desk on the other.

The only power points (2) in the room are under the TV and you cant see the TV from the bed. It is however exactly what you need if there for a short business trip. Not massively expensive either.

Does what it says on the tin

Small, but very cheap, convenient location since easy to access from airport (2 stations by train). The bathroom is soooo tiny so once you took a shower it is really hard to go there again and not get wet. Breakfast is OKfor me but if someone wants to get eggs, pancakes, sausages you will not get them there. Would recommend this place for a short stay when you need to stay for a night and then fly further or just explore the city.

I stayed one week at Cabinn Metro for my engagement of an international Microsoft technology conference in Copenhagen. It is very close to some big shopping centers but quite far from the Copenhagen centre. The room is good but small. Each room has a bunk beds. The breakfast is really delicious, personally. I strongly suggest any travelers to take a look at this hotel.

This hotel is newer than the downtown Cabinn Scandinavia and the lobby and facility is much nicer, albeit the rooms are the same (small room and tiny bathroom with no place to hang anything). It's on the outskirt of Copehagen so there's nothing around. The positive side is it's next to the Fields shopping mall with restaurants, fast food, and grocery store (grocery store has longer opening hours than the rest of the mall). To reach the hotel from the airport you can take the M2 metro line to Christianhavn station then transfer to the M1 line to Orestad station. The hotel is a block or so from Orestad station.

Yes, the rooms are tiny but Cabinn Metro is a bargain by Copenhagen prices. And as they say in their posters, it's a place to sleep.

If you want luxury and are prepared to pay for it there are plenty of hotels in Copenhagen and you should consider them. If you're on a budget and are happy to keep it simple, Cabinn Metro does the job.

The good stuff:

It's close to the airport by train and then a 15 min walk from the station to the hotel
Staff are super friendly - they let us check in at 7am and upgraded us from bunks to beds
It's a short easy train ride to the airport or to Copenghagen - there's an underground line and a train station nearby
Breakfast is not luxurious but is more than adequate
There's a good sized shopping centre with a big supermarket nearby - good for budget travellers who want to self-cater
It's located in a newly designed and built suburb - interesting if you take an interest in town planning or modern architecture
There are picnic tables out the back where you can eat your supermarket food (no view though)
Rooms were kept clean and towels were changed daily
There's a locked luggage room where you can leave your bags if you are leaving late on checkout day. They give you the key and you put your own bags in, so bring a bag lock if that concerns you.
Sleep was fine - no noise though there is a shooting range nearby that you hear from time to time.

Bad stuff
We had to take it in turns to get stuff out of our suitcases. It was that small.
There's no pretty scenery to admire
Sheets and towels were a greeny colour that made me think of a hospital
If you don't know how to use a shower curtain the toilet might get wet. Big deal.
We didn't see any restaurants or cafes in the immediate area though there were a couple of bakeries at the shopping centre.

Knowing what we know now, we would probably have gone straight to Malmo in Sweden where accommodation and food prices are more reasonable than in Denmark and which was our next destination anyway. It's only a short train ride away.

We have no complaints. We got what we paid for and the staff made us feel welcome.

I won't bother repeating what has already been written about the size, style etc. I will try to just add new info and short highlights.

We stayed here one day before our cruise and one day afterwards. The first day we arrived before noon and thought we would ask them to store our luggage since check-in isn't till 3 or 4. What a pleasant surprise, they said we could check in! There are 4 of us,adults.

As others have said, close location to the mall which contains a Walmart like store was useful to get bottled water etc.

Also after realizing how expensive Copenhagen was, we decided to eat breakfast at the hotel which for 70 DKK is a good deal! It's not bad, cheese, breads, deli meats, muesli, yogurt, juice, coffee.

The first room we got though was very hot, we were high up like 12th floor or something and we might have forgotten to leave the blinds down to block the sun and it was an odd shape room.

The second time we stayed after the cruise we arrived around 10am. Again asked to store our luggage and they said to wait a little and maybe we could check in early again! We were able to check in around 10am! This time we were on the 6th floor and the room was a nice rectangle and we made sure to drawn the blinds and left the window open. This time the temp was fine.

We were looking into another hotel that was also lower price in town but everything is automated so you definitely cannot check in till 4pm and you'd have to put your luggage in the train station lockers. I felt like that was too much to worry about. In the end, I'm glad on our choice, it all worked out well. The second room wasn't that cramped! Sure it's not a great hotel but when I was researching I felt like paying twice as much in Copenhagen wasn't going to give us much better!

The most important is I did feel the room was clean!
