“DON'T GO THERE!!”
Reviewed 22 October 2009

Bein a Danish traveller - I know that Cabinn has VERY small rooms - and that is why they can have cheaper prices. But the phrase "Sleep cheap in Luxury" doesn't hold water anymore. The hotel is a joke - the rooms are extremely small, the bathrooms joke - and the whole design looks like something from the 80's /even though the hotel is only 6 months old). This is simply NOT woth the money and there are soooo many better alternatives in Copenhagen (for a cheap hotel - check www.wakeupcopenhagen.com - it is the same thought carried out so much better)

The CABINN Metro is a 10 minute walk from the Copenhagen Convention Centre (Bella Centre) and is only a 3 minute walk from Field's which is a very large and modern shopping centre. There are several restaurants on the top floor of Fields. It is about a 6 minute walk from the intersection of two rail lines (Metro and S line) which makes it incredibly convenient to get to any location in Copenhagen with a 10 minute rail ride. If you want to see the city, you can purchase a 10 trip ticket and within a few minutes get to any of the downtown transit stations.

Without a doubt, Cabinn Metro is not the most luxurious of hotels nor does it pretend to be. It is a value hotel that provides a clean, small, convenient place to sleep and stay. Internet now works (wireless) in the rooms without any problems. The password is posted in the lobby. Breakfast is in the basement. It is a buffet with two kinds of yoghurt, granola, cold oatmeal, oranges/apples, toast, juice, two kinds of cheese, sliced meats, coffee, tea, jams and was 60Kr per day. All you can eat.

Compared to others who attended the Copenhagen Convention Centre but who stayed downtown (at double the price!), I found the convenience of getting up and walking to the meetings easier than them having to take the train in the morning to get to the convention centre. After a day at the convention, I would walk to the hotel and drop my briefcase off, get changed, check emails and then take the train into the city for touring and return later in the evening from the most convenient station back to the CabInn Metro to check emails and be ready for the next day.

It would be critical to get to know the subway/metro. To do that, when you arrive at Copenhagen Airport, go to the area where they sell the tickets. There are several live agents. Tell them you want to go to the Orstad station and you want to purchase a 10 trip ticket. They will give you a map and instructions. You will take the train 2 stops and you be only a six minute walk from the Cabinn Metro. Just walk through (or around) Field's shopping centre and you will see the hotel. The hotel has a snack bar 24 hours and a nice open huge lobby where you can sit and chat if there are other staying there or work on your computer for some length of time. The room has two small desks and chairs. The staff were very helpful. Everyone seems to speak English. There are a few computers in the lobby if you don't have one.

Cabinn Metro is probably best for travellers who must attend a convention at the Bella Centre (otherwise you should use a Cabinn downtown) and for those who plan to get out and see the city rather than sit around in your hotel room. Showers, bathroom are small but suitable. If you are a very big person, you might find the bathroom and bed too small. If you are not a solo traveller, the pull out bed or bunk bed might make the room a bit small. I would definitely stay there again.

Cables coming out of the walls, a joke of a shower, couldn't see the television from the bed and there were only 3 mediocre Danish TV channels which all finished at 2am then nothing.
Gotta be kidding charging full price for that....

Terrible tiny room for a high price. Shower combined with a toilet - for me it is a bug, not a design feature. Brand new, yet the shower is already dripping. No food in the evening, only a sandwich at the reception, not even a restaurant in the neighborhood. Not even an egg for a breakfast, just one sort of cheese, ham, and cereal. You have to pay in full on arrival!!! (Never ever seen that...)

I stayed for five nights in late July to attend a conference. The room was miniscule. The beds, though not much more than a shelf on a wall - one above the other - was very comfortable so sleeping wasn't a problem. Just don't move your pillow too close to the halogen light that sits just above it. Mine caught fire whilst I was in the shower. It filled the room with smoke and there were no smoke alarms - very scary! You could touch both walls by standing in the middle of the room and reaching your arms out. The shower/toilet was like a camp shower. But all that is tolerable except for the fact that the free wireless advertised in rooms was not available and the wireless in the common section blocked facebook!!!
