“An amazing Christmas event”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 December 2013

For some years now, the Tivoli Gardens have been open before Christmas. At this time of the year, you have to be prepared for a cold outdoor scenery, but there are many places you may pop in and warm up, get some 'glögg and æbleskiver', which are the most common specialties around Christmas in Denmark. The garden is open from 11 AM to 11 PM, but most people come after darkness, when all the decorations are most beautiful. Many special buildings have been set up for the Christmas event only, and you will find lights and colours all over. In my opinion the garden is more beautiful than ever this year. All the entertainments and restaurants are open, but many people go there for the Christmas market booths, where you can buy Christmas gifts or Danish souvenirs. You have to pay an entrance fee (95 DKK), but I consider it modest considering all things you can experience. If I may be a bit critical, I could wish better signposting of the different areas and attractions, also on the map distributed to visitors. You may soon get confused in the packed area. Dress warm and enjoy it!

“Family fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2013

We arrived about 3ish on a cold Saturday evening, the que at the front (the Build a Bear side) was massive so we walked round to the other side (by the bakery & opposite the train station), it had a smaller que & we got in quickly...paid up front for multi ride tickets (family of 4), whilst we did que for rides, it was well organised & we got on to the rides in reasonable times. We had an AMAZING time, the kids (8 & 6) had "just the bestest time ever", their words not mine...we left at 10.30ish & basically didn't stop the whole time we were there. A great mix of rides, something to suit everyone & all heights. It was magical at night with all the lights - really special. We walked around the shops / stalls but didn't browse - we were there for the rides! We had dinner on the ship (it states it's a family restaurant) - the food was really tasty but was pricey however, it was great having dinner in a pirate ship! We had a fantastic fun time & have created loads of happy special family memories....well worth a visit.

“More like an Amusement Park for Kids and Teenagers”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2013

I went to the Tiboli Gardens hoping to find an interesting Christmas Market. I didn't know that I had to pay an entrance fee of about US$20.This is fine if I am going to take the numerous rides but its totally a waste of money if you are not using the rides. This is more like a carnival during Christmas rather than a christmas market.I went to the Tiboli during a rainy night and the walkway inside was muddy.

“Perfect Summer Evening”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 December 2013

My friend and I really enjoyed walking thru Tivoli when we visited here in May. If you can't decide on a place to eat in Copenhagen narrow down your choices and go here. There are several nice restaurants here and most of them have some sort of interesting view of the park. There was a popular folk singer here the night we were here which we really enjoyed listening to while sipping on a cold beer, all though neither one of us understands Danish:). We did ride the wooden roller coaster and another ride which was fun. It's pretty here during the day but nothing beats the ambience of the lights at night. Well worth a visit.
