“Boring and not worth the $$”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

This was so boring! There is nothing really to do aside from a few tacky rides, over priced food and some corny gift shops. You might feel like you HAVE to go here, but you're better off skipping and just walking/wondering thru the beautiful city and absorbing the culture! Eat some danishes on the bridge and enjoy the architecture instead!

Reviewed 19 August 2014

If in Copenhagen you have to visit the Tivoli Gdns. Busy but enjoyable especially in evening when the lights come on. Fireworks at 23:45. Fridays summer concerts at 2200hrs Free with some major names performing.
Big choice of eateries priced reasonably.
Rides if you want to use are extra cost from entrance fee.

“So much to see and do, lots of fun, huge lines to buy tickets”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

I wish we did some research on Tivoli ahead of our attempt to visit it. As it turns out this is a hugely popular place with tourists and on any given day if you attempt to enter the park before noon you will spend more than an hour waiting in line in one of the entrance gates. So I highly recommend buying tickets online if possible or if not, wait till the lines ease out which is after 3 pm. You will still have plenty of time to have fun.
Also, we imagined the tickets for the individual rides would not differ much from the similar park in Stockholm, but while a booklet of 20 tickets can keep a family entertained for hours in Grona Lund Tivoli, the same number of tickets got used up here very quickly especially if you accompany a child on a ride so I recommend getting a daily multi-ride ticket for each child. We ended up trading our individual tickets for a multi-ride one for our 6 year old as he was able to go on most kids' rides alone and we got one that allows an adult to accompany a child for our two year old. If you are travelling with multiple adults not very keen of amusement park rides I recommend having the little one wear both bracelets so the adults can take turns in screaming for their dear life. :)
Also, expect to wait in lines for 15-30 minutes for each ride you plan on taking if you go during summer time.
The amusement park itself and the gardens are quite impressive. There is so much to see and do. And the place is swelling with restaurants with very tasty food. It was hard to make a choice where to sit down for a break and have dinner.
One thing that was surprising to us were the safety standards. They seemed more relaxed than in the States so our two year old was able to go on most rides not intended for adults as long as she was accompanied by an adult. And some of those rides were quite scary, at least for me, my kids had the time of their lives.

“Thought I didn't want to visit an amusement park”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

but glad we did. Relaxing gardens, pretty restaurants, whirling old-fashioned rides. All combine for a nice stroll, and great photo ops.
