“Very Good Hotel for the Size”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

We usually stay in small boutique hotels, but when we were unable to secure a room at the Nimb we decided to try this hotel, designed by Arne Jacobsen. The service was great, we never had to wait to speak with the concierge, or for check in and check out. Our room was large, clean and bright with a nice view of the Tivoli gardens. There was also plenty of storage space. The hotel is a block from Central Station, so the airport is only a 12 minute train ride away.

We stayed in this hotel in July 2005 for 4 nights after a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords-my love of photography could not have placed us at a better location as it was within walking distance of all the major tourist spots and many of the offbeat spots-across the street from Tivoli -2 blocks from the pedestrian mall the end of which was the waterfront area Nyhavn where you can board a waterway cruise-a short distance further was The Little Mermaid

Room Tip: Get a room on the upper level facing Tivoli Gardens

My husband declared he felt like Austin Powers staying at this Arne Jacobsen designed hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We booked two rooms for our family of four. They were comfortable and large (we were placed in corners rooms) with spacious bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent and the waitstaff was excellent in accommodating our daughter's dietary restrictions. The concierges were also helpful and informative about local sights and services. You can't beat the location of this hotel with its proximity to Tivoli, Stroget, and the Rosenborg Castle. Also, it is very convenient to have a supermarket attached to the hotel for water, snacks, etc. as Denmark is very expensive.

The location and the view of Tivoli at night from our room were what made this a great hotel. The hotel is right across from the train station (it's an easy ride from the airport) and Tivoli Gardens. It is also walking distance to Stroget, a pedestrian street with shops and restaurants, the Radhus City Hall, Rosenborg Castle, and many other attractions.

The room was your basic Radisson Blu room, and the staff was friendly (like everyone in Copenhagen), but the location makes this a 5.

Room Tip: Request a higher room with a view of Tivoli -- it's stunning at night.

I booked this hotel mostly because the reviews mention that the location is good.
I was there on July 26, 2014. I had booked a junior suite. When I arrived there was a lot of people waiting at the reception and everything looked out of control. I finally obtained my room which was 1805. It was not the room described by booking.com? In addition it was an old style room in need of renovation and the AC did not work. However the room was clean. Breakfast was included but the buffet on the 20th floor except for the view, is more than ordinary. I had also booked this hotel for August 8th and 9th upon my return. After this sad experience I decided to cancel my reservation and I booked somewhere else. As to the location, it is a good location bur other hotels are also located in good places. Nothing in the old part of the city is very far. As an example from the Radisson Blu Royal to the Hotel d'Angleterrei it is a 20minutes walk through Stroget street. I cannot recommend this hotel and the value is not there for the price they are asking.

We arrived early in the day after disembarking from our cruise and, of course, rooms were not yet available. But Mads at the registration desk kept an eye on us in the lobby and summoned us as soon as a room was available and arranged to have our luggage retrieved from storage and delivered to our room. We were on the 18th floor with a beautiful view of Tivoli Park. There was a lovely breeze and occasional brass band music from Tivoli with the windows open (although the air conditioning later seemed unable to keep up with the cool). Sekkal, the concierge, recommended a nearby restaurant with gluten free items, and then came to our rescue when the code did not open the in-room safe. Our room was furnished in a rather nostalgic mid-century modern decor, but quite pleasant and comfortable. The asterisk in this review came that night when music (dare I call it that) emanated from Tivoli with a thumping bass that was felt as well as heard. Even with the windows closed and the curtains drawn, we could not escape it. Fortunately Tivoli closes at 11 pm, and our thumping bass ordeal came to an end. Unless you plan to be out until Tivoli closes, you would be advised to sacrifice the view and request a room on the back side of the hotel.

Room Tip: If you want to avoid possible late night noise from Tivoli, ask for a room on the backside of the ho...

If you are into architectural history then this is a must. The location is fantastic almost across the Tivoli a block from the station and it gives you the chance to explore the outer limits of the city center. Amazing restaurants nearby without the entrapment of the touristic circuit near the canal. The rooms can be tricky, if you ask for a single room then it is the size of a closet but if you ask for a corner room then you get an enormous space with two bathrooms!!! Best to see the room size carefully before you book. The service and the breakfast are excellent and so are the views as it seats all by itself nothing blocks its views. The bathrooms are confortable and you step right into a history of architecture, time travel style! Arne Jacobsen would be very pleased to see his work is so well maintained.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are the best specially on a high floor for the views.
